I play alot of differant games just to try them.... and have noticed that there seems to be massive ammounts of games that are shocking similer to WoW?? Is that wrong of the new games to do or is it just them showing there wonderment and love of it??

I really dont think theres anything wrong with it to be like it in ways as long as they dont steal the games plot..

yeah ,Ｉfound many games copy wow's ideas.
Of course it's not right to do so ,the similar systems, similar storyline, even similar graphics,just showing they are too lazy to creat something new, just copy others.
I wish there are more new games in the future, I mean, not be made by others before.

How on earth can they have similar storyline, Astrid11? WoW is based on Warcraft3, the best RTS ever to exist, right up there with Starcraft, and the best story, in general. That is why they made WoW in the first place, because the warcraft universe had so much potential, and after the story line found in Warcraft3, which, and i'l say it again, is perfect, things all clear that MMO of this universe MUST be made. As we can see, it succeded, in every way, and WoW became what it is.

Most people are jelous of this, thats why some love it, and some dont. And because of this popularity, and the revolution in its type, other game-developers copy this sistem. And what a surprise it is that most WoW Clones, are FtP games, i have never seen a P2P game, like WoW. And dont bring LotR or AoC, or older mmo's then WoW into the picture. They are very different, and its like sayng Quake is a copy of Doom, or Mortal Kombat is a copy of Street fighter...

...there were games that came before WoW

Honestly, the only game I've found that is very different from WoW is Eve Online. And it is fantastic for people who can't just grind all day long.

well of course there are games similar.. some say that every mmorpg is L2 clone, others that wow clone.. of course there are not that many really unique in all aspects games, but they are not the same either

Wow was not the first mmo, therefore not everyone copies wow

Actually their really isn't a lot of games like WoW. WoW adicts and fanboys just think so.

i havent seen any f2p games that resemble wow in any way shape or form, the action bars in most games SUCK, the characters movement is not as free flowing as wow and i havent seen very many orcs in most f2p games, most mmorpg's copy eachother but i dont think they would copy wow... because wow has money.... and they can just close em down if they resemble the game, also how many designers you think and programmers you think it took to make wow... lol

Runes of Magic is taking copying ideas to a whole new level though. It looks like WoW, the system is like WoW with the exception of a few things, the shortcuts are even the exact same as WoW's.

that is what happens when something becomes immensely popular. people will copy your concept.

MMOs are made of different elements - storyline, graphics, gameplay, game system etc. etc. Which one are you saying most games copied WoW?

Well human brain's creativeness is limited, we distort things we already know and make them look at fantastical and magical beings. Look at runes, magic circles, incantations, spells, potions, buffs, magical powers, these fundamental features of a magical MMO, aren't they derived from medieval witch and magical beliefs? Look at the graphics in WOW or Warhammer, it's all medieval! Knights, wizards, necromancers, they're believed by people when they haven't discovered science and used magic to replace reason.

So, would you say medieval people were the first inventors of these things and WoW copied them?

And stuff like EVE Online, they just replaced the magic and mystery with science and reasoning, same principle - they took a bit of modern science, distorted it, and made it into a futuristic science fiction MMO.
