When pet first come into a game .no one thought it would become so popular years later. From the early stoneage, to concerto gate ,RO and now ether sage , with the development of the pet system , every mmo now has it's own pet syste, .



but are you tired of playing with the same mode ? or Is it really a necessary element in every mmo? what shall do we improve this ?




Aion is a good example. it has no pet or at least pet is not that common , but do you feel la little lonely playing with no pet ?

I have never really gotten into the pet system, the pet systems seem pretty pointless to me, I haven't seen a pet that even looks fancy enough for me to want him.

I think pet system is only a way of making money for developers . Actually many games don't need a pet system .

I would agree to the fact, alot of MMOs do not need it, and yes, it tends to be another way to gain funds for the game.

I suppose what Raid said bout them never lookin good enough to be wanting, is because most tend to be Asian based games, that prefer "CUTE" rather than "BRUTE" lol

I would only if it made a drastic improvement in the gameplay!
But yeah, it's the same ol' thing over n over these days....summoners n all lol

never really...give much time on pet systems. i think that pet systems are only fun if your class uses pets like a hunter..or your pet is just to look cute with no function

Pets are practically everywhere and free in Ether Saga ;) although, you do need to pay for the special mounts or flying equipments ...

I look for pets because they make soloing much easier if the pet have attacking power, if not even buffs to its owner would be fine. In games like Ether Saga pets are essential if you even want to survive while soloing, whereas in other games having a pet equal to the power of a two player team. Make soloing much easier.

WoW has tons of collectible pets, hunters get there own pet that they can tame but other classes can collect various pets from vender's or from monsters, I once got one from an egg that a mob dropped lol(though these pets do not do anything).

But yes many of the f2p games add pets to allow for them to make more money. I also agree with Xesolor I usually play as a character that gets a pet as a class ability which helps for training.

I think it's OK if we have pet in games .But I don't like they run pet system as a way of making money.
Pets also appears in games where is not needed as the story goes.

Pet is pretty fun, some game allow pet to combat with you or serve as a extra inventory for you.

In some games pets give power up like in sciof of fate
(mouse gives hp power up)

In other games pets are only like a house animal or to fight with the main chara

well, pet system isnt really necesary but sometimes pet looks cute thats one of the things people want them , 2nd to make fast money sometimes they good to farm mobs, and 3rd they can assist u on battle thats kinda usefull especially for mages that are weak on some games

Honestly, I think pets aren't necessary in most games. I think they're just thrown in to be just another thing for the player to manage.

It's nice to have a pet system that actually does something, but when the pets can't help you at all, I don't think there's a point in having them. Most of the time it's either pets do nothing in games or they're cash items that make the game imbalanced, like TRICKSTER, which I loath for its cash shop dependency.

also pet that is wasting hard earned money like that infernal ginnie in ragnarok

Well I played much mmorpg's and I can say one:
I save almost every mmo a pet system that cost much.
(pet does cost ever much and are in the most of mmos with real chash buyable)

Pets, they seem to be a quick way to get folks into a game...Some games could use an assisting pet but there's a few where the pets get in the way of the player.

No game has gotten it right yet.

Yes.... The best ability of a pet for me is aut***** hehehehe.
