I've just started playing latale and I'm looving it, except for the lag. (I live in the northeastern part so that's why I have lag) However, I've been told that it's very similar to maplestory. Unfortunately I can't play maplestory due to my windows vista T.T(trust me I did everything I could. followed tooons of guides and have even been accused of being a hacker once ) I want to know once and for all; which is better?
Latale or maplestory?

I'd say Latale is better...
Maplestory - A lot annoying little kids who call new players noob, show off their cool equips, shout stupid stuff, and best of all, super conceited. Items are way overpriced...new players won't be able to afford decent equips to help them level
Latale - Played Latale for a day and I can say that the community is WAY better than MapleStory. Quests give a lot exp, also some are repeatable too. Another great feature in Latale is that you can run! Which helps a lot on moving between towns.

I don't know why you can't run MapleStory with Vista...I'm using Vista and there wasn't any problem when I played MapleStory

I agree-Latale's community is definitely very nice. I hope that it'll stay that way. and I really have no idea why maplestory doesn't work on my comp either. I know there are others out there like me, but it seems like it was a problem with the compatibility O.o
I changed the compatibility of the maplestory.exe, but still couldn't play >.>
The game ran, and I could create a new character and everything but once I tried to do the tutorial the game shut down O.o
and of course, when I went to the maplestory forum and posted my problem I got flamed -.-

for game population, i pick maplestory because most of the people out there at least knew or played maplestory before. however for game community, i pick latale as most of the players are "more matured" than maplestory (NOOB!) lol.

but overall i think maplestory is better (just ignore the NOOB! kids, lol)

I would say LaTale, because it's much easier to afford good equips. It's also easier to get unique equipements. Money making is a piece of cake because quests are really money based. For the fighting, LaTale is one of the few games where fighting is a real challenge. At the beginning of the game, it's easy but once you get to like lvl 15, monsters are HELL. They take like 2 times a chain of 2-3 skills. In MapleStory, after lvl 10 and maybe forever, monsters take 1 hit and that's it (I left Maple after lvl 36 and I was pwning.). Maybe after lvl 50, monsters can take maybe 2-3 skills. For bosses, I REALLY love LaTale bosses!!!! I just can't explain. They are AWESOME!!! Well anyway, I suggest you to choose LaTale.

Maplestory, for a rather simple reason. Gameguard.

Latale currently uses Xtrapt. While being effective to an extent, it blocks out the ability for users to use programs like xpadder and joytokey. While not important to most, some of use enjoy playing these types of mmos with a usb controller.

To me, it's way more relaxing to play a 2d side scroller sitting back and using my controller, instead of being hunched over a keyboard. Some may prefer the use of the keyboard, since you can add a lot more button functions than you can with a usb controller, but I prefer the easy of using a usb controller in such games.

If LaTale switches to another hacking prevention system then my opinion may change.

Thank you for the signature, VV.

LaTale!! Maple is too much grinding and the quests barely do anything to your exp bar, and personally, I find LaTale's graphics pretty good as well
Jan 18, 2009 5:39 pm
LaTale,
Maple Story is all about grinding, and nothing else.

At least LaTale has PVP arena, and it gives the players something to do other than grinds.
