I am really confused, as I play MMOs for some time, I found as my level up, my skill is still increase, well, that doesn’t mean my real skill, you know in MMOs, when you get the higher level, you maybe will get a new skill, when you pvp or pve, what you do just use these skills properly, click the shortcut key for skill and begin pk, there is really no skill in it, not like a FPS, You shoot your pistol over and over, and your pistol skill goes up, that is I called skill, not click the key to pk. So I think that is the big important thing that developer should take into account, or when you play one mmos for a long time, you will find it------boring!

Ummm not really understood your question , but i answer what i think you kind looking for.

I find skills is in how to use all your ablities at best. Not just do the same things over and over if not just find the best way to use your abilities or what is needed for you to own So skill for me is being able to use the best skill and knowying your character well eneough like to play with the abilities necessaries for you to survive and kill.

Any questions? Need to contact somebody? Dont know who to ask a question? Have problems and cant fix it?

I agree with you on this point.. there is a tad bit of skill.. cuz if your fighting someone of equal lvl you have to use your skills in a "correct" order as to do the most dmg in the quickest way that you can, while at the same time trying to minimize dmg to your self. Most times tho you can just hit any skill while fighting.. till the mob or player dies.

thats why i cant wait to see some of these new MMO's coming out.. there not just point and click.. they have fighting as to where.. if you click(or w/e the button is) it will swing your weapon but you still need to aim right and be close enough for it to hit cuz you cant lock on.. like in Darkfall, Mortal, and.. there were a few others.. like spellbound(i tthink) there was another one too but i dont remember it..

I believe Astrid is talking about the personal ability of a player and their skill level, not "character/class" skills.

IT can happen and for many mmo's, battles arent decided by the player but simply by sequence of attacks and factored by skill points spent/ class differences, not to mention level difference and cash shop use.

The true skill tests of a player come in the form of large engagements I believe. Many hours organising, leading and co ordinating massive assaults such as occurs in EVE and PW-TW, quickly reveal how many level 80 characters get whomped by players 20 levels lower with the right tactics, motivation and pure skill!

That is so called skills? Be able to use the best skill and knowying your character well , seems easy to handle by everyone!

This is why GunZ is so popular. It has RPG elements but it still takes skill to dominate in PVP.

Well, with the success of gaming consoles such as the Nintedo Wii, I think it's safe to say that there will be a "Next-Gen system" of MMORPG's. What I mean is, I think that there will come a time when the mouse and keyboard (or game control, depending on what game you are playing) won't be the only devices hooked into your computer. I foresee something that will make users get out of their chairs and have to move around a bit.

With that, I think the "skill" of gaming will change dramatically.

But I do agree... It seems as though at the beginning of each new MMO, I find myself completely lost and confused but then once I get the hang of things, it becomes almost too simple and takes no thought at all.

well you have a point there, but boredom happens when your are not enjoying the game you are playing, since you feel that i recommend you to look for a game that suits your taste and you will never feel that boredom.

There arent alot of MMOS that factor in skill becouse there isnt much addicting factors to that.

People who like a challenge often arent the same as those who like to gamble - its all about personality type.

In MMOS rewards are given as a function of time put into the game!
