I was wondering

For a strong type of character in a RPG, possibly wears metal armor, would a scythe go well with strength and armor, or would it not?

I'm not sure if I understand the question but in RPGs when your using strength based character Swords and Axes are good. Scythe is good depending on the game.

For me Scythe is more raw power so I see them with lighter armor making the character a little more vulnerable but more mobility. When you say a strong character that possibly wearing metal armor I usually picture someone with a spear. If not it would be the more popluar Sword and Shield type.

Well the scythe is a very dark powered weapon. I'm more of a dark person so I would pick maybe not the scythe but maybe dark double-blades?

It really depends on the game. I really cant see a guy swinging around a giant schyte being very defensive(Low evasion/defense very high strength/attack power). however if you do want to have heavy armor and a giant schyte you best take a look at final fantasy 11 and become a dark knight.
Its P2P though, but its only like 11-12USD a month.
