1) There's so many pros and cons of each. You're right when you say that f2p MMOs sometimes cost more money then p2p MMOs, but on the other hand that's really a choice. You hardly ever NEED to buy them to be good, and if you do then that game should flop eventually from lack of players.
But with a p2p game there's a lot less botters/hackers, because paying the monthly fee just to get banned is really idiotic. But it's harder for younger kids to play these games because of parent's not wanting to pay.
I guess I would have to say p2p is the better buisness model, even though I hardly ever go for a p2p game because there's so very few that are actually worth the monthly fee required.
2) It's really hard to pick my favorite MMO. I mean. SotNW was nice, Archlord was alright, FlyFF is pretty cool, ROSE was great, and there's so many more. I guess I would choose one of the three games coming in September since I have played the foreign versions, but if those don't count then I would say Guild Wars.
It's a great game, b2p which is better then both f2p and p2p in my opinion because it's easier for kids to get, targets a bigger audience, one time fee, and eliminates a lot of hackers and botters. It has great graphics, great pvp, and it's got a pretty nice storyline. Unfortunately my computer I have now no longer runs it comfortably. Cries!
So yes, Guild Wars. I guess I have spent the money required for the games, so around $100.
3) Guild wars is buy to play (b2p), then f2p forever.
4) If you average it out, I spent about $100 total, and have played it for about 4 months not counting the times I quit, so that averages to like $25 a month. (Expensive!)
5) See #1.
