Blizzard founding member and senior vice president of product development, Frank Pearce said to Gamasutra
that Blizzard's third team is developing a new title which is not involved World of Warcraft and StarCraft II.
Talking to Gamasutra, Frank Pearce, founding member and senior vice president of product development for Blizzard revealed that the company has a third team hard at work on a new title, separate from World of Warcraft and StarCraft II.
The comment came amid discussion of the company's current workforce. "Our global headcount is 2,700," said Pearce, "And most of that is customer service for World of Warcraft! In terms of development staff it¡¯s probably around 350. World of Warcraft is about 135 people, 40 for Starcraft II, 40 for team 3, our cinematics team is about 85 guys. Then there¡¯s sound and Q/A and that sort of thing."
When pressed for details regarding the new project, Pearce was cagey. "Team 3 is working on something really awesome. I can¡¯t give you any hints, but it¡¯s totally awesome."
All attempts to extract additional information were understandably met with looks of shock and horror from Blizzard's director of global public relations, who also attended the meeting.
Gamasutra was able to confirm that, in spite of Rob Pardo's comments at Hollywood and Games that they weren't giving up on StarCraft Ghost, this Blizzard project remains something different. With Blizzcon coming up in mere weeks, it's possible that additional information could be revealed at that time.

meh every thing blizzard makes now will be used to make mass money.. it wont hold up to any of their past games :/ SC2 doesnt look that great. WoW is well its WoW..... (rolls eyes)

if they make a D3 its most likely going to suck T_T most games that come out 3rd year will suck.. just look at all the 3rd or 4th gen games now.. their first and 2nd gen are better then they are..

they play up graphics and system demands over acually making a good program worth the 50-60bucks you pay for it.

if they make D3 great but i dont think they will.. that game is more geared towards a mmo now.. with its current standing a single player rpg i dont think would work with todays kid market

Warcraft III didn't suck but yes it's harder to make games live up to their originals but negative views r usually of players of the originals.
Wateva is in dev i'm expectin it to b a hit, Blizzard has a gud reputation 4 it

anyway... i wonder if it will be a completely new idea which i likely believe since i think making another generation of something might actually ruins it but i dunno =/
