Since there are many questions floating around about launchers failing to launch and clients failing to patch, I'll just compile a straight forward solution for these. Credits go to the official florensia forum's FAQ.
Basically there are 3 common problems present:
1. Launcher unable to Open (Missing mfc71.dll)
2. Launcher Start button fails to work
3. Launcher patches all the way and stops at last or 2nd last file.
Solutions work for both Vista32 and Windows XP, these problems are not due to the OS of your computer. Although the Vista64 is a different story, but the fix for it should more or less be the same.
Launcher fails to open (Missing mfc71.dll file error)The launcher and/or client basically requires Microsoft Visual Studio .NET basic frameworks to run and some computers do not have certain components of that which are required. Its a known problem of Windows. Simply download the missing mfc71.dll file from:
http://www.driverskit.com/dll/mfc71.dll/1921.htmland place it in C:/Windows/System32 Folder. (The directory is different for Vista64 users)
Clicking on the Start Button of the Launcher does nothingThat basically means your client still needs some patching and updating for the Start button to work. Most of the time you should be seeing some small words saying "Comparing Files..." and that can take 30seconds to 2 minutes before the launcher actually starts patching, just be patient and it'll start. (Note: Everyone uses the Japanese Launcher, none of the big buttons at the bottom of the launcher are of any use to our global version though..)
I waited more than an hour and the patching is still stuck on the last 2 files. 1766/1767This is a known bug that happens for some clients. Simply close the launcher and open your directory to Florensia. By default it should be at C:/Nett/Florensia. Go into the folder named "bin" and delete the two following files: msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll. Then start the patcher again. The launcher will proceed to compare the files (which will again take some time) and download the remaining two files. If it gets stuck again or the launcher fails to open, you probably deleted the wrong files lol. (Tip: Always do a backup of the files you delete.)
Thats all at the moment. Its also good to know that the 1st quest on "Changing Weapons" dosen't work.
