This particular guide is to help you find your way around the features of
Grand Chase without too much confusion. Granted, most of the game is self-explainatory - but just in case you're having problems you can come looking around at this guide!
I. Server Menu
At the current time of this guide being posted,
Gorgos is the only server available. In order to connect to the game fully, you must double click on 'Gorgos'. There are different ranks of server population - at the time of this screenshot it is
Awesome. This means there's not too many online, but enough. During non-peak hours, this will drop down a level or two (based on the number of bars).
II. PvP Screen and General Information
After double-clicking on Gorgos, you will find yourself at this particular screen. This is the PvP area of the game; listing the rooms and giving you options to the rest of the program as well. I have numbered the particular areas of the screenshot to help me explain what they are. ;]
1.) This is a
room. This is an area that a player has opened up as a Host to allow others to fight against him or her (or their party/teammates). The lock means that it requires a
password to enter the room. Otherwise, you will not be permitted to join.
2.) This is how you
make a room of your own. It will prompt you for a title of the room [it will general a random title by default], the colour of the text of your room (it shows on the room listings - requires a Paint purchased from the shop), and a password if you desire one.
3.) Quick Join will throw you into a random room that's available to join. It will not take anything into consideration as it isn't particularly a 'search function'. It's if you're bored and up to a challenge of any sort, you can click on it and join an open room.
4.) All[i] will list rooms that are [i]Waiting and
Busy. If a room is listed as Busy, it means they are already engaged and you cannot join.
5.) This is your general information. Your level and in-game name is listed at the top. Followed by your Win/Loss and Win percentage afterwards. At the bottom, you find yourself with your GP (
in game currency), Gems (
to upgrade certain equipments), and Crystals (
to purchase some equipments, usually obtained by defeating a boss).
6.) This will show your
active character. This means, whenever you join a room (dungeon or PvP) it will be the first character that is shown. You will have to circle through your characters again while in the room to get back to whichever character you want. It will also list your characters' data.
III. Equipment Screen
This is
obviously your Equipment window. Again, I have numbered certain highlighted areas of the screen to help you understand what exactly I'm talking about.
1.) This is where your
currently equipped items are listed. You can hover your mouse of them to find out their stats and other small bits of information. If you double-click on a particular item, you will unequip it.
2.) Your
inventory area is very important. Whatever new equipment you've purchased from the shops or found in dungeons are listed here. If you double-click on a piece of equipment, you will equip it. Certain items have 'features' here, upgrading will show up as P.Up normally. Upgrading requires either Gems or Aging Gems. Keep in mind that this is you
highlighted character's inventory. This means you will
not see your other character's equipments or drops. You can still change your highlighted character by using the arrows underneath of the character display.
3.) This is an example of a Rune being used within a weapon. It is treated just like equipment and you can remove it just by double clicking it as well. Every item that has that little circle (clear or filled with a Rune) can have a Rune 'compounded' to it. A rune can give more attack or defense depending on its location. They drop from all monsters, but very seldomly.
IV. Dungeon Window
When you decide to go into dungeons and start kicking some monster-butt (instead of another player's), you will find yourself inevitably at the Dungeon Window. It is
very straight-forward, but I've decided to explain things in case there's any confusion whatsoever. Once again, the numbers are listed so you can fit the numbers together for a description.
1.) Difficulty Level. With each star, the difficulty will increase. The levels of the monsters raise and their chance of obtaining buffs increases. You will obtain more exp per monster, due to their level difference (in most cases). In order to continue through the storyline and access a different dungeon, you
must complete the highest difficulty of the particular dungeon prior to the next one. That means you must complete three stars to get to the next dungeon.
2.) Enter Room is much like the 'Quick Join' in PvP. It will slip you into a random room that is listed for that particular dungeon. There's not much more to it than that.
3.) The
Room List will show you all of the waiting channels. If you click the '
All' in that particular window, it will show the busy ones as well. This is the best way to look for a party, unless you want to be the leader...then you would...
4.) ....
Make a Room! It's just like in the PvP window, it will ask you for a title of your room and the password (if applicable) or the colour of the text (requires paint from the Shop). Easy as pie!!
V. What now? (Credits and Information)I will continue to update this guide as I have more time to do so. Eventually, I will have most of the client mapped out and easily understood as I have with the windows/screens that are in the guide currently.
I want to
thank a good player named
motorp. He has made a text-based guide of the data I've started posting. If you want to avoid the pictures, you can check it out
here!
Thanks for reading!
