As many of you know, In January 2008 JaGeX will be releasing a new skill into the world of RuneScape, this skill will be called Summoning. Upon hearing about this new skill I began digging into the forums and development diaries trying to catch a hint of how exactly this skill is gonna work. JaGeX isnt letting on too much, but many players say that they are, some say that NPC's such as the wizards in the tower, the Malignus Mortifier and the skeletal army that you summon in swan song were all ways of testing this new skill, or at least hinting it to players. At this time it is suspected that this skill will be for members only, because it is highly intwined with members skills such as POH, construction, hunter, and slayer. It is also linked to the Gertrudes cat quest. Currently most gamers think that this skill will bring about a new quest in order to obtain it, many think that the quest will involve the Malignus Mortifier. Also at this time people are sayign that the skill will be directly linked to your quests, meaning you can only summon certain 'beings' after completing or reaching a certain stage in a quest, if the skill is for nonmembers as well as members it is obvious that non members summoning abilities will be limited. After asking some of my in game friends they had this to say "I dont know exactly how its gonna work but I hope you can like summon a banker, that would make life much easier" Another friend had this to say "Dude, it would be so cool if we could summon Elvarg, that dragon in the D Slayer quest. But Rs would prob make him weaker than he actually is and make his fighting power match yours." And another friend had this to say "I hope they like let you summon clan members, like if your in the same world it would be cool if there were a 'spell' to bring them to you, at their wish of course, like they would have to have accept aid on, and they would have to click 'yes'.LOL sorry im rambling, but yeah it would be really cool if you could summon players." I agrred with all my friends, it would be really cool to summon a giant dragon, it wuld be alot easier if you could summon bankers, and it would be wicked awesome to teleport players to you. Keep checking this post for more information as we continue to gain more knowledge of this new and fascinating skill.

Summoning good for everything

They announced summoning skill YEARS ago and they released now? o.O

The announcment at the time was more of a few ideas that they could think of at the time. Jagex just did not start really working on it until late 2006... check the timeline out below.

Same thing with Construction (POH) it was announced at the same time as Summoning. Where still waiting for RGS & Player owned shops from that announcement. RGS will be the biggest update ever when it dose come out :D

I always use my summoning

summoning is useless at 1st when they onli release the 1st part... except mayb for the beaver... but the 2nd one made mi want to train it...

Summoning was never useless only some people that didn't like the cost/ damage amounts thought so I know many people including myself that made millions from using summoning even before Summoing 2 came out.

I made a few mill even before the shard price was lowered. Jagex were right the first time it's a hugely rewarding skill & it is even more so now.
