You don't even have to pay at all. It's an option. They have a lower monthly fee than the standard $15, and a lower than standard lifetime fee which was $200 for LOTRO. You gotta love how people these days have a false sense of entitlement and think they deserve everything for free...

Hmm this might be one of the FEW P2P games I would Pay to play. Though I am against paying to play a game....(Well I'm not against buying the game client from a store. But paying monthing is ridiculus). But it is good that it has a free option too. Though as I said this might be one of the very few games I'd consider worth paying to play. I look forward to it's release.
