News from the Festival du Jeu Vidéo
Gametribe staff was at the Festival du Jeu Vidéo in Montreuil, France (from 21st to 23rd of September). Jeuxonline.info team (French MMORPG website) was there yesterday and managed to ask them a few questions about Domo.
The next classes to be implemented are Musician and Dancer (and possibly others). They should be added before the end of the beta test period.
Non-European IP should be blocked, mainly to prevent "cheats".
Closed beta should last about one more month.

Guess we'll have to wait for an official statement about this IP block -the fact it takes them so long to make one isn't really reassuring- but if it's true... it really sucks, especially for the non-European people who spent time beta testing their game. <_<

Reminds me of Cabal Europe closed beta. No IP was banned at first, lot of North-Americans and Canadians beta tested the game. Then when the test was over, they blocked their IPs, preventing them from playing the release, even if they wanted to subscribe (the game was still P2P at the time).


if they really ban....probably need to find another game to play, enjoy my last couple months of domo

Ban IP is really bad. I think

there is NA version of DOMO being publish by aeria games. i believe thats the main reason why europe DOMO will have IP block.

Well, whether there's a publisher for DOMO in the USA or not isn't really helpful in my particular case as I'm in Japan. I don't read enough kanji to be able to follow an MMO in Japanese. I speak French and English, so Euro or USA servers would be fine, but if I can't play on Euro or USA servers because they plan on blocking IPs from Asia, then that means I can't play DOMO. Especially since the person I play this game with lives in the US, anyway.

Restricting IPs always sucks; just because someone is in a particular country doesn't mean that's the language they speak. That, and, they should've decided this before letting US players waste their time beta testing their European client.

OMG!! Not again!! IP-Block normally involve me coz I am located in China at the moment . Sux to be me~~~~~~ I don't have China ID and can't really read chinese all that well so don't go tell me play the game in the region!

Aeria Games already announced they are going to publish DOMO US. Guess I'll have to see if there is going to be another IP-Block or not, sigh~~

Aeria Games has published some really awful games. I'd be more inclined to playing the EU version anyways. There are proxy addresses and ways around 'IP Blocking'.
In a way having blocked IPs will be good. It will really just depend on what the company decides to do. Either way there's a way around almost everything, so if you really want to play the EU version, do it.

I know there are ways around IP-Block... but for lots of time, going thru proxy will give you lag~~ Not to mention you need to find and set up the program for it and also find a running proxy servers which frequently changed/updated. Maybe it is easier for you, i dunno... maybe you have better sources but I don't~~

The way I see it, I'm not going to hide my IP just so they'll let me play their game. They're going to lose a lot of customers, regardless. Dumb move.
