i saw a news. Mark Jacobs, Electronic Arts (EA) Mythic General Manager, received an interview conducted by WarCry network at the Austin Game Developers Conference.

In the interview, Mark Jacobs said that their upcoming MMORPG Warhammer: The Age of Reckoning won´t be a World of Warcraft killer. "We´re not going to hit the same numbers as WoW." he said.

Someone someday no doubt will, but to expect it of any product at this stage is wishful thinking. However, not expecting 8 million subscribers doesn´t mean there isn´t a lot of pressure. Jacobs told us he would be disappointed if Warhammer Online does not quickly become the second biggest MMORPG on the planet.

To the question of popularity there won't be anything that touches WoW for quite some time in subscription numbers. That being said, there are better overall games out there and Warhammer may turn out to be a much better quality game, but I would not expect to see over 9 million subscriptions.

In terms of graphics and gameplay though, it looks almost like WoW. Had tried playing during a game convention and that's the impression I get.

Graphics are pretty similar except I think Warhammer will have a more dark approach to it which I like. The gameplay, hopefully Warhammer will have more PvP involvement in the game. Dunnit, you have played Warhammer already at convention? That is pretty sweet, I wish I could do that.

Warhammer will be online till the year 3011 and WoW wont be online 25 years, after 2 Years of the gamerelease WoW Servers will be empty and WAR will GROW GROW GROW I Love WARHAMMER ONLINE

Warhammer looks to be a great game , question is will it be great enough to pull players from WOW?
I dont think EA Mythic will beat WOW with just Warhammer ,but if marketed right Dark ages , UO and WAR together could put a good dent in WOW's subs..

This game looks similar to wow because they use the same graphics engine.

As far as will it be good, Dark Ages of Camelot is one of the highest ranking mmo's ever and it is pretty damn old. Dated graphics etc.

WAR is made by the same company as DAoC and with EA backing it, they will have the financials needed to deliver a substantial game.

Graphics will get better when optimized, due to most screenies currently being alpha or cb1 shots/videos.

True wow has such a fan base it will be difficult for anything to dent it, but this game has some very high potential esspecially with its Games workshop lore, and 25 year history togo into the game and upcoming content.

They are two games who will be very good, take your pick, enjoy what you play and everyone wins. :D

well...the story of warhammer comes before wow as ppl said, warcraft is pretty much the series of warhammer.
therefore similar race, similar gameplay, similar graphic:p

There is a lot of ppl already on wow who are going to switch to WAR once it comes out so I am sure the numbers might be cut in half between wow and WAR.. This is just imo

I will never understand why people always compare other Games with WoW ??? The focus of War and Wow are completely different. WoW has its focus more on PVE and WAR hopefully on PvP at the end content. I know it's easier to compare all with WoW but the result will bring no answers...

warhammer is better than wow!

I don't think it's getting the same publicity as WoW had when it started, so whether it's a good game or not, I don't think it'll be as popular.
