Here a post published in the official thread talking about the age needed to play the game and why. Let us know what do you think about it.. does age should matter? how can they proof if you 18 or not? ----------------------------------------------------------- you must be 18+ to play, if not, you must have consent from a guardian to do so. Those who do not get consent will be permanently banned from game. The games content will feature adult language, blood, gore, mutilation, and possibly sexual innuendo. 2Moons has been designed to serve the USA and Canada, It could be global, but this has not been verified yet. Hopefully, those outside the required countrys mentioned, will be able to play. The only countrys verified at the moment are The USA and Canada. This may change in time. Will update when verification has been made by Mr. Perry or Acclaim. Closed beta may start in November or December. By registering for the 2Moons forum, you are automatically registered for the 2Moons closed beta. Those chosen will be on a first come, first serve basis, unless you win the official 2moons fan trailer contest, check general section of forum for more details. Open beta is subject to begin when David Perry and Acclaim feel the game is ready, no precise date has been giving. Commercial release also applys, but looking at opening in early 2007, depending on how smooth things go. well i am sure they want to keep there audience around the age that can handle some of the content related to the game... i doubt it has anyting to do personally with respect to what some people can handle.. furthermore, with all the blood and gore might give some of the younger gammers some pretty awful nightmares.. but thats just my opinon i guess

Not really Straw Hat, you just need parental consent.

Not that it affects me, but exactly how are they going to go about determining a players age? How are they going to go about getting consent from parents? To me it just seems sort of half thought out on their part. Being it is a free game it is going to be all that much harder to really control.

As far as I see so far their Age verification is done when you register and input your age. So it seems like their real intent is more of a legal standpoint. If they tell you that you can't play if you aren't 18, you signup and say you are 18+ then it is out of their hands. Really I don't see them taking this rule real serious, even on their forums they still haven't answered how people under 18 can verify their parents consent. Also they haven't said if players outside of US/Canada can play, besides one post that hints they do not plan on any regional IP Bans as of yet.

okay there might be an age you state your 18 and over okay out of our hands.. as far as credit card verification then the game wouldn't be considered free, instead it will give wrong impresssion and make most people think its pay... just what i observe as a possible problem

You brought up a good point, about how they will know if you're not 18. Some people said something about parent's giving consent to DP a while back on the official forums, I'll go look. If I find anything about how they will be verifying age and taking parental consent I'll tell you guys.

that is another problem... with identity theft on the rise giving such vital information over the internet will truley drive alot of ppl out of the game... the only way i see what would possibly be a solution to this problem is to use a quiz on recent events that happened 18 years ago that most 18 year olds should know... but then again nothing that ole google can't fix lol... anyways its going to be interesting to see how they solve the age verification problem

yes, interet creats problems, but it solves it too lolz i dont really see the point of the 18+ though, unless people are really noobish with computers, even without parent's consent they can always find some solution to get through the game, usually people over the net teaches people how to get in those 18+ or need ID games, thats how i was able to get to korean SUN apparently u need a korean citizen's identification number so i google it and wahla ^^ This post has been modified on2006-11-12-02:50:24by StrawHatMDL!
