Spearmen are the most popular character in VN version, mostly because of their huge attack dmg. Spearmen do have great dmg but low def and hp. Spearmen rely on their 1-hit skills and are great soloers at the beginning. But at high lvl (60+) they need to rely on parties (that constain healers) to be able to lvl effectively. Spearmen also have pretty slow attack speed compared to bladers and swordmen.

About Spearmen build, theres alot of conversations in VN version, no one has found the "best" build yet.
Heres some suggestions:

Max first skill [max lvl 20] - first skill raises your defence.
Max your fifth skill [max lvl 20] - Propably your best skill, Ok theres a system for all characters that when you deal certain dmg theres a bar that when its full you will get "few seconds" berserker mode, which raises your dmg and def by alot. But it doesnt last very long, when you max this skill you will get 70 sec berserker mode for spearmen.
Max your seventh skill [max lvl 20] - Im not sure of this, as I dont see the real effect cause my spearmen hasnt max this, but I heard it either raise your attack and def by 20% or raises attack and def by 20% while in berserker mode, anyway recommended to max.
Okay now many ppl have made exceptions for by adding to third skill which raises your attack speed, as some ppl see great attack dmg and great attack speed will be better than attack dmg and def.
After lvl 60, raise or max your eigth skill - raises your def by 2 per each point you add.

Maybe you can see why spearmen are so popular now, their skill dmg is great, their normal dmg is great plus they can choose great attack speed or great def.

spearman looks cool, whereas blade/swdman swings 1 hand
me prefer 2 hander

spearman has the most powerful attack but the slow attack speed, no classes is perfect

both are the same only the look and skill, it just depend what you like.

I really wish i could have the correct names of the abilities for Spearman, but my advise:

Lvl 1 - 20 Max out the 1st ability ( Raise def )

Lvl 21- 35 Raise the 5th ability ( Increase "anger" time )

After you change to 1st Class, you should build as if you will use Skill/spell mainly to train by maxing the 6th (increase your max HP) and 5th. You will have some extra point be4 you get to Class III, put in whatever you want ( i put in 2nd ability cus it help me in soloing by increase the HP using items)

Once you got to 2nd class, the 7th skill (Increasing the dmg of skill/spell *Warning* In some older version of SOF, this skill may not function as it is *Warning*, but the later 1 should, i have no idea what kind of version netgame will give us to test CB. But yeah, you should max it out

So far thats my guide, cus i am still lvl 74 =.=, so hard to train with time limitation.

spearmen are cool, i just dont wanna pick a a class everyone will be, but so far ite seem that the class popularity is somewhat evenly matched.

i heard that ther snt too much ATK different after lv80 between a blader and a spearer
but a big diffence of DEF about both of them

i have just searched the attk power of both class weapon.
the weapon of spearman at lv 80 is 255~278 and blader is 248~270.
so i hope i have answered your question

look like i'm gonna choose Spearmam...cuz he the trongest one in SOF

wingless i'm totally agree with you, blader are very scary in pvp.
because they have the higest def of all classes.
and i think bladers got a skill that lower your def or something.
so pvp again a blader is hard to defeat, make sure you got a healer on your side, that is skilled
to heal and buff you, or else you are death in no time.

Which has higher def? blader or spearman? I don't think blader does coz a lot of spearman's skill raises def./
