I have a few question, I am a COMPLETE newb at 9dragons. Watching the preview videos, which beggar build gets the attack where he shoots a dragon out??? I WANT THAT ( kinda my whole point playing ) Another question, I was reading Zan's guide to OC1, and I was wondering, Since I plan on being a beggar, can I start there, do all the beginning quets, and than start to collect the items? Also, Can I learn lightfoot at the beggar clan so I dont' have to lose it later?? Oh, and what is a good build for a beggar? I want to hit hard and be able to protect others. Def not a healer. Actually... what kind of builds are there in this game? Srry for the broadness of some of my questions, hope someone can help ^^ This post has been modified on May 05 , 2008 03:47:09 PM by Goseki.

first of all, shooting out dragon is not yet a function in this game, you can shoot a ball of energy(nuker, hybrid). but not yet a dragon(remember, you're only a one-knot student, that's nothing in the actual beggar clan:D)
second, you learn beggar lightfoot after you become a beggar. and you will not lose your lightfoot skill. only wu tang and heavenly demon lightfoot are the only lightfoot which you are able to learn without actually joining the clan.
third, collection(is that what you're talking about? Relics and Trinket?) basically, you can't get any of these in low lvl, close to impossible, i would say.(except for the quest items)
and your build is purely depend on WHAT you want to play and HOW you want to play.
there are 4 kinds of role in 9D,
Warrior--learn the skill of main clan's weapon, really cool, but you have to meditate a lot as you lvl up.(very easy to play), they use main clan's weapon
Chi Kung User--they attack enemy from a distance, to me, i love this role the most, they are the best in pvp(player vs player), but they cannot fight boss alone, or do any dungeon run at all. Also, their skills are a pain to lvl up. and you need a lot of gear for this class. it's is not recommanded to play this role as your starting character(first character), they use bracer as their weapon
Healer--they're not the pure supporting class(unless you want it to be), they learn buff skills(which is cool, but a pain to lvl up since key-jamming is not allowed anymore). they learn fist attack, except Brotherhood of thieves, and Sacred Flower, which they use axe and dagger, respectively. Healer sucks at PvP, since their con sucks( 2 chi points for 1 con). but they're the best in PvE(player vs environment), since they can heal themselves. which means, they can grind indifinitely until their Vital Energy runs out. They learn the best and coolest healing skills. they use Glove as the main weapon(except BoT and SF, which i stated above)
Hybrid--they are the mixed of everything, but the best of nothing. They learn every aspect of kungfu, melee, and chi kung. they too use glove as their weapon except for BoT and SF. they can also heal and buff themselves(and others), but their buff is just not as good as healer. They are consider a good PvP class because they're able to para-nuke other player from a distance.
so that's about it. it's long, and my english is not that good, so i hope you understand. >_<
and i think Zen can actually help u out more, she's an expert, i bow down for her skill and knowledge in 9D ^^ This post has been modified on May 05 , 2008 08:06:04 PM by senni.

nuker don't use fist at all, they use chi to attack from long distance. Nuker use bracer.
btw, Condor Heros dominates!!!!

untill you reach opening chi lvl 1 (about lvl 24) you can't be a nuker because you can't learn the skills till then. So I sugest you go pure strength untill you reach that lvl. you can reset your stat points when you select a role at OC1

Lol is it safe? I was debating between asura and nirvana, but i saw ppl saying that Asura was a pk server... From my exp of mmorpg, I kinda assumed Asura was an open battle server and seeing as i'm a newb, i figured anyone could just walk up to me and kill me Or do i have the wrong idea of what asura is... yep, you do have a wrong idea. you won't get pk in low lvl, until RL. unless you go to pvp map, then people might pk u. but they won't get anything anyway, so it's ok ^^
Asura is a better server.(in my opinion)

you should start off at either WT or HD base, then do their quest, get the lightfoot, then travel to other clan base to do the basic quests. then join Beggar. this is option one
or option 2, you just do the quest in League of Beggar clan base, then join LoB at LS 4, and start there(but remember, once you join LoB, you can't go to black clan's map anymore, meaning SF, BoT, and HD, and if you got to Shaolin and WT map, you will get kill by their guard.)

Hmm ok thnks, Also, is the newbie guide by Zan still good? I figured a name i like, gonna try and make it once asura opens up. (new: ok so my new character is named "Long_Sum" I think it means Dragon Heart in chinese BTW, it says Asura (US-PK) so what is the diff between asura and nirvana? The storm war thingy is at 6PM PST on nirvana, but the website just says 6pm on asura... so what time is asura running on??? Lastly, is LoB a good starting and main character? I noticed beggars get a hp boost. So which class is Beggars suited more for? O... and how long does it take to get lvl 100+??? This post has been modified on May 06 , 2008 10:24:37 PM by Goseki.also, I'm following Zan's and Mether's guides to collecting the vagabond accessories. How high should I get my basic wu-tang sword and fist or does it not matter? Should I train my basic fist at all???

Where do i get clothes with slots for accessories? I'm following the newbie collection quests and I have a bunch of accs now. Will I find clothes with slots or will I have to buy them from store or other ppl?

well first, i don't think "long sum" is a good name, "Dim Sum" is more a better name ^^
the difference between Asura and Nivara is that in Asura, people can pk each other at the high lvl map, while in Nivara, you can only pk people in CC and BP. and in my opinion, LoB is good for healer and nuker, but not a good clan to start with, because you need to get drunk to use most of the kung fu, and to get drunk, you need to buy liqor, which might be a little too expensive for a new player.
LoB is best for Healer and Nuker, since they don't have much HP, they're useless for warrior however, 200hp boost is close to nothing for a warrior.
and follow Zen's guide, get your basic WT fist to cheng 2, and just use WT sword till u finish all quest and join the beggar.(better yet, start off at HD base, it's easier to do, except you have to use saber instead of sword)
and to get to 100+lvl, it all depends if you are a professional player or not. I don't play much, and i'm still FD(60+), for a regular, getting to 100+lvl (High GB?), it usually take them a few months? idk, i'm not there yet.
and to get sloted cloth(it's different than pocket cloth), you need to buy them from npc, and to get pocket cloth, you can get those from dungeon run, or just buy them from other players.
above all, i suggest you use a female char. female stuffs are generally cheaper than male stuff(i don't know why ><) This post has been modified on May 08 , 2008 08:05:32 PM by senni.

every clan gives you cloth once you join them, and clan relic also.
and yes, you can't go to black clan anymore, and as for white clan, only if you want to get yourself killed ^^
btw, you can still use staff if you're a hybrid or healer, you just wont' have the smashes, that's all. but since you want to play nuker, then you can't use the and weapon beside bracer at all....(unless you have a completely wrong build)

from your style of play you want i think you would prefer hybrid more. its a mix of being able to fight and protect others but they aren't as effective as nukers in pvp. a nuker can still use weapons, but they will get penalties from the requirements so its not recommended. one of the advanced nuker vs nuker tactics is to actually pull out a melee weapon and just chase down your opponent. it's mainly effective in the middle levels before the nukers develop their strength. beggars are THE BEST choice of nukers later on. they get an extra damage shield once advanced masteries are released. the guide i made is a starter thing because you get some free accessories to go along with the clothes you get from quests. if someone helps you out, you can completely skip them all.

hmm i see. The only thing i don't like about beggar nukers and hybrids and healers is the whole get drunk thing. I barely have any gold oh, and is the chi point restat going to be obvious and the pick a class? I've been waiting for that and still nothing, hope i didn't miss it oh, and where does the 3000 contribution point come in? I did all the acc quest you listed zan and each of them are only worth like 20 contribution points >_> the largest i have ar | | |
