Based on Randerware Graphics Engine, the Archlord game world presents fantastic graphics. The architectures in Archlord look like that in Lineage 2, but more magnificent and glorious. Take Elf’s main city for example. The whole city has a unique style. It is divided into two parts – airspace and land, which are connected by a curved bridge. Embarking the sky castle after crossing the long bridge, you can have a phantastic view of the city.

Sound: 9
The developer spared no efforts in music production. All the 30-plus pieces of background music are performed by London Symphony Orchestra and the background music for every city and leveling up place is different from each other. Character’s footstep, hubbub, fighting, etc. are so vivid, making you feel like you are in the game. NPC will utter different sounds and the character’s actions are accompanied by different sounds.

The chat system in AC is decent but not outstanding. It includes ordinary chat, party chat, guild chat, whisper and shouting.

When a character reaches level 20, he/she can go to guild NPC and create a guild, requiring nothing else.

The party system must be a highlight of Archlord. Type "/pin name" in the chat box, and you can for a party freely no matter where the party member is. Archlord has an effect bonus setting. If the leader is a mage, party member can get additional 60 MP and HP bonus; if the party is led by a Berserker, party member can obtain 5 additional attack bonus; if a ranger is the leader, party member can obtain additional 5 defense bonus. In addition, when you are in a party, the items dropped from the monsters you kill will be picked up automatically for you.

Gameplay: 8
There are three races and eight different classes we can choose from -- Humans have Archer, Knight and Mage, Orcs have Berserker, Hunter and Sorcerer and players may also choose to play as a Moon Elf Ranger or Elementalist. Each class has its special initial skills and passive skills, but there is a level limitation for learning skills. Players can use different kinds of skills through the weapons belonged to different classes. In addition, players can select different faces and hairstyles freely.

AC has a huge quest system. You can get various kinds of quests from any NPC who carries "!" over his head. The quest rewards include money, experience, weapons, various kinds of upgrading stones, etc.

Besides ordinary trading, AC has also introduced auction system and long-distance trading system. The auction system is similar to that in WOW, where players can see all items that are auctioning, which is quite convenient. In addition, if a player is in a party, he can do long-distance trading with his party members. Click the party member status box in the upper left corner to “user menu”

When a character's level is higher than 6, PK is available. The game world is divided into safe zone where PK is forbidden and free PK zone. The player will receive PK points and be penalized correspondingly if he kills lower-level characters. PK points can be washed off, but at a high price. Generally speaking, the PK punishment in AC is severe.

Upon level 35, the player can buy a mount from NPC. Each race has its special mounts. The player can increase his moving speed dramatically by riding a mount. Equipping knight weapon will enable the player to produce high damage. One thing that I need to say is when riding on a mount, the character will have no additional attribute available. In addition, the mount also has its durability and it has to rest.

Overall, Archlord has quite some highlights. Each race has its unique equipments which are eye-catching. The weapons embedded with different stones will give off different kinds of light. The effect of magic skills in AC is even more dazzling lustrous, particularly, mage’s magic will feast your eyes. Besides, its diversified quests will also attract players’ eyeballs. Among so many Korean games, Archlord is undoubtedly one with outstanding performance. In addition, the strength of its publisher Codemasters can’t be ignored. Believe this win-win cooperation will make AC an MMOG really worth anticipating.
