Recently, news about wow in China becomes a hit. one of the big event is about Professor Tao. He isn't a wow player, but he really provoked cn wow fans.

Tao works hard on internet addiction research, especially among teenagers and he ofen writes some articles against internet addiction. on July 16th, Tao and other two specialists attended a CCTV program, and he said that wow is a kind of drugs that destroy young people's life. many violence and crimes come from wow. Tao admitted that wow is a global mmorpg with awesome graphics and sounds. At the same time, wow differs from other games because it can provide players a sense of belonging. wow is a adult game, and it can make teenagers addicted. according to his research, wow is the no.1 game for those young addicts.

Tao's words provoked wow fans. countless language abuse have greatly affected Tao's normal life. His fixed line and mobile phone is always busy. many fans write articles to retort his words and ask him to apologize. Tao refused and still hold his point in his blog. He said that from these days he had received lots of harassment, warning and insult. now he is sure that wow is psychological drugs.

imo, Tao is to some extent extreme and he just take wow as the main reason of
those violence and crimes. I played wow, so i will be a criminnal?? it's funny!
proper gaming can really help us relaxing after daily work. isn' it ???

guys, what's your opinion? is wow really drugs?

Relax, he is not a professor. You fail if you take what he said serious.

I do agree to some extent that wow is a very addicting game, from things i heard and see while playing the game i am like wow this person must be like really addicted......In my own opinion if u can control there is no problem, i have played wow for about 2 years, but i am about to quit cuz i am going to start my college life and well i am going to be a premed student and wont have time at all with wow, but if i have time i will more likely get it cuz it helps me relax.....

Any questions? Need to contact somebody? Dont know who to ask a question? Have problems and cant fix it?

I find that this game was more addicting like 2-3 years ago. When it was just vanilla WOW. Raiding just seemed so much funner with 40 people.
