Hi, everybody
If you would like to share your game video with other players, then follow me. I’ll show you how to make
a DIY video.


Steps:
1. Install game camera.
2. Start a game and enter the recording screen.
3. Exit game and put the game video file into the editing software for editing and music scoring.
4. Output movie.
5.Upload the video to the net and share it with other players.

How to make:
Recording game is only the first step for making a game video. First, I’ll explain game camera for you. Basically, there are two types of game cameras:
1. 3D game recording software (FRAPS 2.0 or 2.50, do not support windows 98)
If your computer doesn’t support FRAPS, we recommend GAME CAM (only support Windows XP)
2. CAMTASIA STUDIO screen recording software (suitable for making dynamic tutorial)

1. Premiere (PR for short) is a common editing software.
It has a lot of captions and effect plugs-in, which allow you to make fine movies.
2. Windows Movie Maker is a simple video editing tool, but it can only be used in XP.
3. Videomach can add a lot of effects.



Special effect combination
1. Presently, the most popular combination softwares are Affer Effects (AE for short) and Combusion (CB for short). They are used to make the scenes which can’t be shot in real life.
2. 3D design. 3DMAX and maya are popular. The difference is that 3DMAX is widely used in making scenes and effect drawings and maya enjoys advantage in og animation.



Output video
1. Common video decoder formats
Mpeg-1 is mainly used in VCD and online videos.
Mpeg-2 is mainly used in DVD and SVCD, which is an out-of-date video coding standard
H 236 is widely used in video conference, video telephone and network video.
MPGE-4 is used on the Internet and CD, voice transmission and TV broadcasting.

2. Steam media file format
Microsoft’s ASF, WMV formats
RealSystem’s RM and RMVB formats
Quick Time’s MOV format

3. You can decide which type of video format to use
If you will upload video onto the network, I strongly recommend WMV 


Now, you may have a general understanding of video making, right? Now let’s start to learn how to make a video. Hope you won’t be bored.

Minimize Fraps and start recording game. Make sure what you wanna record.

Start a game and record the game with shortcut key you set.

For example, I set F9 as a shortcut key, I’ll press F9 to start.

You can see a red “FRP” on the screen,
indicating its recording and the time
is 20 seconds.

When you finish recording, press F9 again,
you can see a yellow “FRP” on the screen,
indicating it’s not recording.



When you finish all the scenes you need,
the video will be saved into the output
directory we set before. Till now,
the video recording completes and
you can start to edit it. 

Game Cam

First open Game Cam



Find the icon of Game Cam in the task bar on the desktop, right click it and select Profile Manager

Click New Profile

Select the game file you want to record and open it.

The game you select, the save path of the file and other information will display on the right.

Click Hot Key button to set Hot Key

Click Advanced button to set. For those which need to be set, I’ve mark them in red

Right click the icon in the task bar, select Profile you set just now and enter game
Press Hot Key to record~

Premiere

Open Premiere, double click the blank area and input all sub scene videos.

Drag scenes into the timeline

By clicking and holding the mouse on the timeline’s pointer in red circle, you can drag it back and forth to preview the video.

You can use Editing button to split a video. Select the scenes you do not need, split and delete.

After deletion, don’t forget to change back to the original tool you use.
