Fighting mesmers... in PvP

hey peeps, we all know that mesmers have those clones that usually confuse other players...

How do you identify the real mesmer when you encounter on...????

Read your article, all of that stuff seems irrelevant with spvp. My "work-around" for fighting mesmers at least 1v1 is massive aoe. If done right, mesmers can do some damage but so can I. They really do require some different playstyles. Stun them, daze them, catch them off guard, build tanky and just make sure them clones don't shatter on you. Big thing is fighting against them more and more so you can find out what mesmers do. From my understanding of online games, people like to use other people's builds and "rotations" so you're bound to find out some information even if its a little amount.

Try playing a mesmer too. One way to get into a mesmer player's mind. (worked so far for me, I'm killing them faster now)

Well obviously the clones movement are simple. and if you are in the attack range they just stand in the same spot attacking you.
Also the clones normal attack deals really low damage, so having the combat chat on and checking when u get hit and the damage you'll find out that it's a clone, but obviously there is easier ways to find out lol.

isnt that the hole point of a mesmer that he "confuse" the enemy or confuse players you dont hear me complaining about a warrior who can use long range attacks because it is annoying. what you are saying right know is that yous hould change the hole thing about a mesmer. And to be fare a mesmer is easy to spot it is most likey standing in the back and secondly it is casting the clones so whats the movement of a mesmer >.<

i havent tried out the pvp yet, but i am planning on it, i am still level 38. Am i relly missing out on the fun that is PVP? :D

Nice analysis, but in real combat 1v1 is really rare. It is more often like 2vs2 or more or unbalanced number of players. The only time I got 1vs1 against a mesmer, I had an additional npc against me that prevented me to have full attention for the mesmer.
And that is the point : in real combat (in wvw) you can't focus totally on your 1vs1 combat or it's more like you were dead already.

The last thing I would add is, even if you get a 1vs1, have full attention on the mesmer and are able to know which one is the real one, the question remaining is will you have sufficient def and hp to get rid of the mesmer before the total amount of damages dealt by all his illusions get rid of you.
Sincerely with equal level and equal type of stuff, I doubt a guardian have a single chance against a mesmer in one vs one. Not that it annoyes me : I accept that some class could be weaker against some and stronger against some others, but I still wonder which class is supposed to have some chance with equal data...

by the way... I just made a new discovery.... If you dont like fighting mesmers.... RUN!... They are not so good chasing down other players lol!

Myself iam playing as a Mesmer they are really efffective & in PVP but in PVE they lack they dont show much effectiveness
