I'm going to give this a shot when it gets released, sometime next month from the looks of it.

If I touch this game, it's only to see if Lager finally got their act together and fixed the glaring flaws that were in the TW version.  Otherwise, I'm staying away from it.

From what I've seen in the screenshots, and even some of the previews, there certainly seem to be some changes made, but there was still a lot of issues to be resolved.

As a matter of fact, some of the things mentioned were really awkward.  Dwarves don't seem to even exist in this game, they got replaced with these kids called Genies...  and they changed Elf stats to be more physical/defensive than magic based.  That thing about 480 pets also seems like a HUGE stretch from the TW version, even if I factored in merging...

this so called 'fairyland2' is extremely boring.

Which leads me to my next issue with the game.  The original TW version had an awful payment model for their cash shop.  To get the good gear, you have to gather materials.  To get those materials, you need a toolkit.  To get a toolkit, you had to... wait for it... CHARGE CASH!

Unbelieveable how they took possibly one of the most integral systems of the original Fairyland and make it exclusive to paying players.

This morning an email from Lager reached me - I guess everyone got one. Fl2 is out and we should register at http://fairyland2.iahgames.com/. I did - and if it's just to lock my nicknames. But they're nearly all taken already - and the download button isn't even active  lol ... Guess that's what I expected :)
And if you really have to pay that sucks. Well not much different from the old server. If you wanted to get anywhere you had to pay too.

anyway, the site says there is like 3 classes but there must be more than that rite? i really wanna play sod or bl again but only see warrior mage and priest?

also, must we add lots of CON when we start a toon like fl1? and are any starter pets good?

oh and is multiclienting possible or worthwhile? i guess from your post that workskills arent the same but i am wondering if i can party my toons together for lvling like i did in fl1. was a lot faster and more fun doing it that way.

Anyone know if FL2 is still going to be turn based. Cause thats what i loved the most about FL1 was the combat. And being able to party with people in turn based combat. So I guess if it's not turned based i probably wont play. But ill still give it a shot.

The game is really different from TW's Rainbow Bubbles. The story quests are all different, for one.

There're 3 base classes. And each class can choose from another 3 at lv20. E.g. mage can choose to be dark-mage, or nature-mage, or i-forgot. (I much prefer TW's skill-point allocation)

CON just helps with defence. Starter pets useless. Multiclient disabled, worthwhile. Workskills tools here cost stars but working is rather useless so far.

It is turn-based.

Don't expect too much. It's fine as a cute turn-based MMO (reason why I'm still at it) but nothing as great as FL1 had been.

It looks like they put the Chinese game text through Google/Babelfish/Whathaveyou translator and hoped for the best.
Curious players can locate the game forum to see some screencaps of bugs (or non-bugs, as submitted by confused individuals).

Hey guys, I'm really confused ._. So Funtasy online/Rainbow bubbles online is actually the same as Fairyland 2? Then how come the screenshots of FL2 looks so different from RBO? Is it because of the huge overhaul gemini mentioned?

It was more fun than expected. But imo really stressful gameplay compared to before - but maybe just because all was new and so many options and buttons. It's totally different than the original FL. And they still need a lot of bugfixing. But it was fun to hang out with some clanies again, like in old times. And at the moment it didn't look like you have to pay for it. I didn't miss any content really, besides some revive items maybe. I wonder what they will put on mall besides clothes and probably exp dolls and weapons and some tuning pills.



I guess it is. I didn't see Rainbow Bubbles or Funtasy Online anywhere on the site tho, it's just promoted as Fairyland 2. I don't know if it always looked like that. Maybe they changed their mind and chosed FL2 to get old players to play too.

Rainbow Bubbles is the Taiwan Server run by Lager (now on auto pilot). As mentioned it is different from FL2. RB's story quest is not storybook-based, for one. And there are no classes in RB. You can literally spread skill points over 7 classes.

The forums for it are a pretty basic set up. I agree with majura that they would definitely need work. As far as the game itself, much like Ragnarok online 1 vs Ragnarok Online 2 youll have fans for each but the sequels tend not to be as good as the orginal. Depends how long their betas last, what sort of wipes happen between closed/ open/ actual game and if they fix any bugs or add addtional content.  FL had many bugs for years no matter how many times various players and companies informed lager about them.

That's why I think it'll take a while til the open beta starts. Some people said in a week, but I can't imagine that. Well, we will see.


Edit: On their fb site they say OBT will start on 24th January o.O I really wonder how many bugs they fixed already.

can you help me where to find pinocchio's friend quest. I need a map that has a spots of them :)
