Taoist vs Elementalist - Pros & Cons

Jul 6, 2012 11:50 am

I'm thinking of choosing either Taoist or Elementalist. I am mainly a PvE person but I would like a bit of PvP strength, enough to challenge people and be not so weak

I heard Elementalist is a very good PvE class but not a good PvP class and I also heard Taoist is a very good PvP class but no knowledge on its PvE

So could anyone help list out the pros and cons for these 2 classes? I dno which to pick :/ Does Taoist suck at PvE or is it very good but not as good as elementalist?

Your help would be appreciated

Taoist(phys)
Pros: Strong at melee combat, massive super armor skills, a few hits can incapacitate enemy. (offensive taoist)
Cons: Lack magical dmg, weak against enemy that uses block/shield, predicable approach.
Taoist(Mag)
Pros: Well balanced, flexible, middle range/close range. Also have high dmg skills such as soul burn. (defensive taoist)
Cons: Lack phys dmg, weaker against ranged class.

Overall: Easy class to start with, combo are pretty much easy to do and deadly, often consider as the "OP" class in Global C9 (LOLOLOL yeright). Great in 1v1, suck at team vs team.

Elementalist(Air)
Pros: can fly :v, heavy long ranged dmg, pokemons.
Cons: weak against close range, squeezy, slow movements.
Elementalist(Ground)
Pros: Heavy magical close combat. Strong against melee enemies.
Cons: weak against ranger, lack mobility.

Overall: Medium, its not a easy class to play with nor hard if you are decent at aiming. Great supportive fire in team vs team and intrude mode.

So which one do you think is the best for PvE of these 4 (and do you think this class is the worst in PvP of these 4)

The sheer number of viable abilities that can be chained from vanish step are staggering, and it's really easy to play mind games with the opponent with vanish step.

Taoists generally do excellent against classes with guard because they have two of the most op guard breaking abilities in the game: electric swing and choke flat(wind rush or whatever it's called in global)..Even phys taoists max electric swing although it deals magical damage because its range gets insane.

Finally, taoists' basic approaching move, vera step, is crouched(meaning range attacks don't damage you), making taoists hell against ranged classes. You can cancel vera step into a superarmor roll also.

Overall: Easy class to play with, both in the low level and in the higher levels. Great in 1v1, okay in team v team.

    imo,
    Best for Pve: Air elementalist
Best for 1v1 Pvp: Mag taoist, earth elementalist

then again, depends on how well you play and which class you are up against.

elementalist cuz you can choose what you want to do just by using wind or ground
