8 Tips for Scout in PvP

These tips are translated from Chinese C9 fansite, hope they can help Scout players :)

1. Number 0 button is the shortcut key of sheathing sword and running away, so you don't need to put a skill in the shortcut button.


2. Button Q not only can prevent ranged attack, you're also under invincible status in the instant of pressing Q(About 0.5 sec).

Eg. If you are combo attacked by Blade Master, although you dodge, Blade Master may use charge and close to you again, if the skills which used to escape or protect life are in CD time at the moment, maybe you can press Q, then use Evasive Attack(回避攻击) or Speed Arrow(急速射击), it's possible to strike back.


3. After pressing Q and hiding, except for nornal attack, you can use Evasive Attack(回避攻击) or Speed Arrow(急速射击) to cancel the status.

Eg. Ranger use Charged Aim(聚气瞄准), then you press Q to hide, usually the ranger will not release the arrow in this time, he will go on aiming at you and waiting invisibility effect ends, so you can use Speed Arrow(急速射击) before the hiding status ends, hit the ranger by surprise.


4. Speed Arrow(急速射击)'s speed is much faster than other ranged classes' skills, you also can use Evasive Dash(翻滚) while using Speed Arrow(急速射击).

Eg. When an elementalist are casting all ranged skills, as long as the distance is appropriate, you can use Speed Arrow(急速射击) then Evasive Dash(翻滚).


5. Buster Impact(破坏冲击波) has two consecutive attacks, and the invincible status will keep about 2 sec, after launching the skill, it will have a 0.5 sec un-invincible attack(normal attack) first, then it's invincible status. During the 0.5 sec, if your opponent response quickly and strike back during the time, the skill will be interrupted. So it's recommend to level this skill more than 7, attack range is about 130%, so that it can avoid the case.


6. Turn Slash(半月斩) is not a patent of Assassin, make use of the 1 sec invincible status of this skill, follow with Traps is a good trick in PvP, and Turn Slash(半月斩) can shorten the time of releasing traps.
PS: Turn Slash(半月斩) only can follow by action skills, then it can shorten the of of releasing.
Turn Slash(半月斩)+ Lethargic Mist(软筋香) / Find weakness(弱点感知) / Flame Trap(燃烧陷阱) / Fire Support(炮弹支援) / Buster Impact(破坏冲击波) is available, if necessary, before use the skills, please release Turn Slash(半月斩) first. Turn Slash(半月斩)+Enchant Fire(蓝冰之火) / Bullet Trap(钉枪陷阱) have no effect.

Eg. When you press E and grab opponent, how to max damage? Try to use E + Turn Slash(半月斩)+Fire Support(炮弹支援) + Buster Impact(破坏冲击波), if opponent is floated by Fire Support(炮弹支援), + Find weakness(弱点感知)


7. Pumpkin Bomber(重磅炸弹)'s attack range is a 2x2 square, an eligible Scout need to know jump and throw the Pumpkin Bomber(重磅炸弹), and an advanced Scount need to know turn round in the air, throw the Pumpkin Bomber(重磅炸弹) and knock down opponent. In order to max the knockdown effect, you don't need to always jump and throw Pumpkin Bomber(重磅炸弹) in far distance, you also can throw it in close range, it will let opponent hard to guard against.

Eg. When you are chased by Blade Master or Taoist, and you think you're nearly caught, you can jump in the air and transfer perspective, then throw a  Pumpkin Bomber(重磅炸弹), it will probably hit the opponent, and the opponent will fall to the ground. Of course 'jump in the air and transfer perspective, then throw a Pumpkin Bomber(重磅炸弹)' is hard to operate, need more practice.


8. Many Scouts don't pay attention to Lift Kick(回身踢), but this is a useful assistant skill, it also is the only active floating skill of Scout.

Eg. Knock down opponent, release Flame Trap(燃烧陷阱), wait for the opponent standing up, if you want to knock him down again, but Buster Impact(破坏冲击波) etc. knockdown skills are all in CD, you can stand by your opponent and when he stands up, use Lift Kick(回身踢). Because the first reaction of most players will want to escape when they see Flame Trap(燃烧陷阱), so if you use Lift Kick(回身踢), it's most likely to float him and knock him down.

heres some of my own tips:
9. How to break guard
Approach by jumping and at the same time plant explosive/freezing trap, rightclick normal attack in air to get blocked, once you are on the floor use Buster Impact, the aoe effect of this skill will launch the enemy on guard to the air.

10. Repel charge skill, turn defensive into deadly offensive.
Theres three way of counter Fighters shield charge and Taoist charge, need extreme good timing. First will be E grab button; effective if enemy charge u headon. Second will be Turn Slash + Multi shot + Speed arrow + watever skill you like.
Second one will mostlikaly easier to peform and effective on all directions. Turn slash will break charge, multi shot + speed arrow will stun enemy.
Third, Evasive Attack chargers flank will cause them to stop.

11. Mark of the scout.
Deadliest combo, usage of those skills determinate how well you play scout. Condition: enemy used evasive escape.
Knock enemy on the floor, dont care how you do it(pumpkin,eagle kick etc). Fire support; make sure u place it right on the enemy + Find weakness + Flame trap + pumpkin/E-grab/LiftKick/Bombershot/MultiShot/Eagle kick basically everything that makes ur enemy stuck at your flame trap.
This combo is no doubt the most feared combo of scout, successful combo will take 50%-100% of your enemy's hp.
Key in this combo: Waste enemy's evasion dash + place Fire support at the right moment and place.

12.Long range offensive.
Jump Pumpkin bomb + Eagle kick, effective vs ranger/elementalist/illusionist. Scouts lack long range skills therefore as a scout you will need to go offensive close range when you are up against long range classes.

LOL, ye i played Global, as for the scout guide....LOL i was lazy, plus not many players want to play scout either. btw somehow i managed to get a acc in CN 2-2 with lvl 50 blademaster 50 guardian 50taoist 47 assassin. So yeah, im trying those classes atm and get loaded for Global C9 c:

you got an account with so many high level characters? Do they have good skill build? :P

well, the skills are mess up, and account are bounded, which means i dont have access to resources, cant buy skills stones. But i still do good with basic skills in PVP C:
So yeah i use those charaters for combo training and PVP combat. My main char is in server 1-3 though

not many people play scout because its the most ezmode noob no skill class in game. They dont even belong in c9. They dont have to use any skill or combos, hell they dont even have to aim. Just push 1-9 and get all their trap up and jump around like idiots while the computer does all the work for them. Who would wanna play a class like that lol.

Really, thats what newbies usually thinks, in fact that you get stuck or killed by traps.
Scout is no doubt have one of the lowest potential when it comes to high RANKED PVP, note; Rank not Grade. You will find it hard to go against any class that is Rank 6 or above.

High ranked players knows how to destroy traps and evade traps, and a veteran scout knows how to intercept enemy, melee+ range combo and blend in traps for maximal effect.
Scouts seems no brain to you just because traps AI killed you, cant you even outsmart traps AI? i serious pity you.

This is top 15 players in 2-2 server which i believe you play in. Tell me; how many scouts do you see in top 15? If scout really is OP shit, no brain class, why cant they make it in top 15.

I have been playing Scout&Assassin, and tried Blademaster/Guardian/Taoist. And all i can say is; theres not such thing as no brain class, learn to play your class and find enemy's weakness.

I assume you play ranger. and Scout's nr1 enemy is definity a Ranger; check this video and find out how. And yes that scout was me, fully geared, and the ranger was noting near me when it comes to lvl and gear yet he managed to beat me up like a puppy.

wow youre mad calm down son. If you wanna play lame ass scout go for it. I wouldnt play something with so much ai lol. I like to do the work not let ai do it for me haha. And yea scout is the most easymode class in game fact. Traps do tons of dmg and keep people stunned. all automatically theres no aiming or control.

90% of scouts i see just use all their ai and run around. It just doesnt look fun to me that is all. Didnt say they cant be killed.

Now go get laid or something. Youre so up tight snapping at everyone all the time lol. And yea sure if you play on 2-2 come hang out with us then. Theres a few of us play regular. Lvl together, arena together and invade too a little. We having fun.

Well i simply presented the weakness/strength of a Scout since i played it for atleast half year (with Assassin). How you handle the infomation and what you think about different classes are not really my concern, afterall we all have peference when it comes to different choices.

And ye, i pefer action more than words; so ill hit u up at 2-2 pbly during weekend. Show me some badass-ranger willya? :P

well kim is a little full of rage. Anyways yea come hang out with us. ps how you know i have an alt ranger? i dont really play him. come at me on my warrior :P You can show me how bad ass your scout is without ai. haha.

Another thing that vid of that ARK guy is pretty cool. Scout not using traps. But lets face it the guy hes fighting is a complete noob lol. He just gets combo'd so easily. And i didnt see him counter anything lol. Like he doesnt even know about it R+L click counter. Gotta be one of the worst blademasters ive seen haha. Hes like a punching bag haha.

LOLyeah, that ranger i fought on youtube have extreme good aim and thats exactly what a good ranger should have, btw i saw ur post in Mystery and thats why i assumed you play ranger. My scout is located in server 1-3, but i do have tao/guardian/blademaster at 2-2, your pick. Whats your ign again?

Ranger was the first class i tried so yea hes 45. My warrior is only 42 but has pretty ok gear but if youre anygood i shouldnt be able to do much to  52 or 50 till i get my 47 gear. But yea my ign Is Basaar. Im on all day normaly, US times. Sure we can go arena a bit if you want.

lawl dont worry, all my chars are wearing shitty gears plus i dont have access to skill stones so i cant use certain skills.

This is what im talking about. 90% of scouts just use ai that i have seen. Sure it doesnt always work for them but sometimes they get kills when people mess up and get caught in the traps and they do too much dmg and cc for auto ai mode imo. And another thing closing on them and then having to back off pressure and kite a million traps while all the cc breaks come off cooldown kinda pisses me off lol. Its when i get impatient that they get me. But yea not saying op, just say they are dumb. Thats my opinion. The ark guy in that scout vid does some good melee on his scout but would be much better doing the melee stuff on his ranger and alot more powerful because he will be built for pysical dmg anyways for ranged attacks. Its just my opinion and i dont mean scouts are op. Its just that 90% of them rely on ai auto pilot, no aim, no combos, no skill really but laying traps and running and being able to get out of all your combos because you cant keep pressure on them while thier traps are out all the time.

exactly, scouts skills are mag attack based, if you want to play melee scout then why dont you just go Assassin. If you want to play good aimed range combat why dont you go ranger. Mag dmg affect all skills that makes a Scout a ... Scout.
From a warriors perspective traps are definity troublesome because you cant get near a scout. But how will a scout react when Warrior&Guardian&Any shaman class can block or charge away 95% of their skill?Therefore a scout must learn to engage enemy at close range and make they float while combine traps, a scout that depends too much on traps; believe me, he wont get far.
And about kite, tell me how the hell can a "no brain AI" scout kite a ranger&elementalist&illusionist? they dont have the range nor speed.
So you pbly realize; theres different tactics when you fight different classes, no brain rage charge will only get you killed in PVP.
To win a scout isnt hard, but it does require patient. Scout works like a spider, he planted webs and wait for you to enter, so the best way would be destoying his web or attack from long range or dash in/dash out.
imo "no brain" is just term for lacking different class mechanism.

How about other classes? I believe every class have their so called "No brain" charaterism.

Ranger's "No brain" halfmap shooting distance?
Taoist's "No brain" super armor charge?
Warrior/Guardian's "No brain" infinity block?
Elementalist's "No brain" pokemon?
Blademaster's "No brain" dash, Longrange flashstrike(break block)+Ground cutter1,2,3 dashout cd, back again?
Illusionist's "No brain" invisible traps everywhere, camp behide their explosive piggy?
Scout's "No brain" massive auto following poops?

(exception: Assassin, risk class, if you pro then you are god, if you suck, then you will die instantly)

Try this next time vs a scout: Pull up ur block every 2 seconds and block any incoming stuff, use only three skill; shield charge(to escape fire trap&support fire),Soul Spilit to deal instant range dmg, Blaze Crasher(chain) to escape incase you made a mistake and stuck on some trap, Expert Bash to deal huge onetime dmg.
To win a scout you need to think like a scout, he tried to kite you, then you kite him back with long range skills and block. Forget about melee combos, and you will win. Its all about psychological battle, when the scout gets tired of your shield he will come to you and try melee, if you get tired of kite and charge right into his traps, simple.

#1 youre the one getting mad. this section was open for scout tips, not for forumers  to criticize scout gameplay.

#2 you lost to heartless today 3 rounds, 3 wins even when hes using a scout. Meaning, you lost even after all those big talk about how scout sucks.  

#3 any more unrelated or trash talk will result in a ban. this is my first and final warning.
Once again, this is a topic for scout tips, not for trash talking scout.

#4 im in an ivy league college and i dont spend all my time on the internet raging over little things.
