City State Entertainment, the amazing team behind Camelot Unchained has recently posted a newsletter about the current state of the game and what we can expect in the near future.
Camelot Unchained has just received a brand new lighting system that really looks quite amazing and we can expect more improvements to it in the near future. The new lighting system came along with updated rendering and general performance tweaks.
Another significant change is that the armor sets and weapons now have mass and stats have been added to them. The character creation section has also been played around with and new stats were added to it. The developers behind Camelot Unchained are heavily influenced by the project's backers, which seems to have a positive influence on the game's development. Backers requested that all classes should be available in both genders and the developer met their demands.
"As a Backer, I’d like to be able to choose the gender I want to play for each race...
Character creation – Add gender choice to Arthurian Humans. – Complete
Character creation – Add gender choice to Tuatha Luchorpán. – Complete
Character creation – Add gender choice to Viking Humans. – Complete
Character creation – Add gender choice to TDD Humans. – Complete
Character creation – Add gender choice to Viking Valkyrie. – Complete
Character creation – Add Gender choice to Arthurian Picts. – Complete..."
Backers also requested memory usage improvements and the developer indeed managed to rule out performance issues, even when running multiple clients. I am actually really amazed by the approach of Camelot Unchained's developing company as they are focusing most of their efforts on satisfying future customers and the crowdfunding project backers.
