Developed by Webzen, Archlord II entered the first test in Korea recently. Here is a brief preview of this game.
The core gameplay of Archlord II is large-scale battles, players can experience the battles named Invasion Battle, Hero Battle etc. And another key feature is the freedom character training system. Archlord II is rated as 18+ game in Korea, the game graphics is quite bloody.
At the beginning, players are able to choose a faction from two: Aimhigh and Demolition. Each faction only provides a playable race for players during this test. Aimhigh provides Human while Demolition provides Orc. After choosing a faction, players can't change their faction unless they delete all characters under the account.
I know many of you hate gender-lock, but you don't need to worry about it in Archlord II, every race has two genders, besides that, there are four weapons: Axe, Sword & Shield, Bow & Arrow and Wand for players to choose. In character customization step, players can adjust body shape, looks, skin color, hair color and eye color, compared to other games which have powerful character customization system, such as Blade and Soul, Archlord II's looks quite simple.
In-game scenes are magnificent, and as we can see, the game graphics are based on dark tones, its 3D effect is great.
There are two kinds of newbie quests, killing monsters and gathering, and they are easy. The control of this game is similar to most of MMOs, players can move by WASD, and the game has auto-routing system.
There is no class in game, as I mentioned, there are four weapons for players to choose, each weapon has corresponding skills. When a players uses a weapon, the weapon's proficiency exp will be increased, and proficiency level will be increased too, when it levels up, every level adds a Skill Point, then players can use the SP to learn the weapon skills. Pressing button Z and X can fast switch between two weapons, the skills on the skill bar will change too while changing weapons.
When the character levels up, it will add 2 status points, the points can increase str, wit, int, sta and agi. Str has influences on physical attack, wit has influences on magical attack, int increases max mp, sta increases max hp, agi has influences on dodge, hit and crit. For example, if you want create a Paladin type build you will have to level up your Sword & Shield proficiency and Wand proficiency.
In Archlord II combats, players have to stand in front of monsters then attack. No matter characters or monsters, when they are hit, they'll squirt blood, this makes the combat more real.
About PvP, this test has Hero Battle and Halidom Battle modes. Hero Battle just like the point race in most of FPS, which team kill more players, which wins. In Halidom Battle, players need to get three halidoms that remain of God : Fire, Water and Earth. Players need to defeat the monsters which guard the halidoms. Winner and loser will be decied according to the time that each team spend.
