Dragon Nest Movie: Rise of The Black Dragon

27th July 2012 - It is announced in ChinaJoy 2012 that Shanda Games (盛大游戏), Eyedentity Games and Mili Pictures (米粒影业) are going to produce an animation movie based on the popular MMORPG, Dragon Nest. A trailer for the movie which is expected to be in the cinema in 2013, has been released.

Shanda Games previously announced that the movie is only the first part of the movie trilogy with story based around the game. Two more movies is expected to be produced in the future.

From the trailer, it can be seen that the main character is a blue-haired sword master. The famous heroic character, Geraint will also make an appearance in the movie. Familiar ingame background such as Carderock and Darklord Training Ground have been showned in the trailer.

Shanda Games also announced that the movie is directed by 宋岳峰 and the plot is written by Terry Izumi, who was the screenwriter for the hollywood animation movie "Shrek".

Story:

50 years ago (from the present time in game), Black Dragon appeared in the once peaceful land of Altera. Under the order of the King, the young Geraint, Argenta, Velskud and other legendary heroes assembled various forces to form the Dragon Slaying Alliance. This incident was widely referred as the First Dragon Invasion by the generations to come. However, what exactly happen during this incident? Where are these heroes after the dragon invasion? The movie will reveal the story and mysteries behind this epic historical event.

Hopefully, Izumi doesn't screw things over like the hoodwinked series he was involved in. Those were HORRIBLE.

This would be the story of the first war involving the 6 heroes right?  But the other heroes can't be seen in the trailer.

the quality of the trailier was nice..can rival pixar and disney....i just hope the whole movie would be nice too..looking forward to it..lol

I just hope they'll actually finish producing the Movie and maybe Release it with either Dub (hope not) or Sub (hope yes)

Because I've seen many game company that announced they would make movies of their game.

Only a handful have actually accomplished it (especially ones with "real life actors")

Like Warcraft (yes it's old now), but I still remember the 2 years after WoW was First released...
They announced they're making a Movie for Warcraft... yet... it never come to fruition...
Blizzard at that time was actually the Richest and Biggest Game Company there was (with their 20+ million subs - at that time)

i think they recently published that the reason its taking so long because the director of the movie left the project, they havent released any new information since then

And fyi the swordmaster is velskud and any other job than swordmaster wouldn't even be possible.

Why i feel like that the kid in the blue hair is going to be Velskud

1.- Velskud was 26 years old already when the Black Dragon Raid took place, which is the event the movie is going to retell.

2.- Velskud sole reason for existence was because he comes from a family that have been serving his (still unnamed) Master (part of the Dragon Followers, presumably ranked leader) for several generations, and they needed a new child to follow that tradition. Young Velskud had no time to fool around as some sort of shonen hero like in the trailer because he was being prepared to become a follower.

3.- Physical differences: Velskud is light skinned, red eyed (even as a human) and black haired. Most importantly he got no eyebrows. I don't need to explain the kid in the movie, specially the most obvious difference.

They are not going to destroy one of the main characters of the game by making him the kid of the movie.

WHERE IS MY PALADIN :( :( :(

Was hoping it's in Korean or English.. But highly doubt it.
