The role of seleana in an 8 man raid (sdn and gdn) is to dps, dps, and dps. This is the build I currently use for pure dps as it works great in gdn and unbalanced pvp. I based it off saurus' awesome guide and tweaked it several times to fit my needs. You may also refer to xKami's guide for more info on FD builds.
An explanation of how I added my skill points: (skipped explanations on obvious choices)
Flame worm: Leave it at lv5 to open up the fire tree, use it when you literally have nothing else to use or to inflict burn
Glacial spike: Minimum lvl 13 to increase the freeze rate. I have it at 15+1 (from cash wep) since I had leftover sp.
Poison: lv1 since it's quite useful for breaking stuff.
Hp and MP passives: Maxing HP is obvious. As for MP, I originally left it at 2 for the MP and 1 for regen but had 2 SP leftover so put them in regen (can help a bit when facing kalahan after the green flower).
Elemental Lord tree:
Fire Ball: Signature skill of Seleana, max.
Inferno: Lv7 for the range increase as it is a good dps filler skill.
Fire wall: Another filler skill which does decent dps but leave it at lv2 for the pre-req.
Flame shield: One of the main reasons ELs are great dps for hard raids is that they are exceptionally tanky with this, max it!
Flame road: Currently one of the imba dps skills of EL so max it! I also use a technique earring which gives +1 to this as well as 3.58% fire.
Fire bird/ignite: I maxed both as they are fantastic for pvp, also does good damage in raids. Birds are instant cast so you can use it when time to dps is limited (a lot of fire skills take time to cast). Ignite is great for clearing mobs quickly, particularly useful in stage 1 gdn.
Flame Spark: The damage increase for this skill per level is huge so max it. Use it as a filler dps in between combos etc.
Frosty wind: For soloing it's important to stack your own ice so put this at lv1 as I didn't want to go down the ice tree just for Freezing Field. Use frosty wind->glacial spike->glacial wave for 2 layers (if GS hits).
Glacial Wave: Lv8 as it is the most efficient sp to freeze time ratio. Would max this if I could but no sp left in EL tree :(.
Magic Return: A lot of EL builds include this but I feel that if using a vigor weapon, it is completely unnecessary and therefore a waste of SP.
Burning hand: lv2 for the CD reduction as it gives a huge boost in damage whenever it activates!
Must get these: Matk, int, vitality, HP, critical, def, mdef, crit def, final damage. Optional crests include: mp regen, agi.
Highly recommended: Fireball (+damage), Volcanic vortex (+damage), Flame road (+damage), Fire shield (-damage). Other optional crests include firebird, rolling lava, flame spark, ignite, glacial wave (+debuff duration).
Please note that this build is not for those with average gears as you will find it extremely underwhelming since there aren't many skills to use.
My current gear and stats:
With the exception of gloves (life) and staff (vigor), I am using entirely int suffix to maximise dps. For potentials, look for int+vit + hp. Currently my top and bottom are still str/vit/hp so I'll be trying to repot them after getting enough codes from GDN... I am currently using the GDN 20 minute title which gives 90matk, 50 int, 50 vit, 500 crit, 5% to all ele. I could use the 30 FD title to reach the maximum but the GDN title gives greater benefits.
Suffixes for armour should either be life or int. Having full life helps a lot with surviveability so if you have issues tanking some hits, especially in gdn, it is highly recommended.
For ELs, the staff should be either vigor or int, and orb int. If you are using an int staff then it is suggested to use a mana suffix helm so you can keep shield on most of the time. The current version does not have a limit on int suffix stacking so having as many int suffixes in the party as possible is highly suggested.
Here's my highest hit I've managed to screenshot which shows how int + ice stacking allowed me to hit 2m+ easily:
You may have noticed that my crit is quite high for a seleana (hell fire gives 20% crit+5000 on burning targets) since in theory, we only need around 11k crit. I've found through personal experience that even with 12k crit I was barely critting with fireball and after increasing it to 15k I was critting more often =_= (testing on manti nest). Don't ask me why, I honestly don't know.
Update: 27 min HC clearance!
3 runs and no ele items, fml.
