I boosted my critic buff because in pve, i noticed that i deal more damages. Indeed when i cast owl's insight, eagle anger, magic breeze and pinpoint, my damages can reach 6k per hit whereas i use only owl's insight to boost my critic, i only hit about 4k per hit.
So here my hypothesis, i think that if you have big critical, your damages will be higher. I dont know if you all think like that, but i think you all think (according to what i'm reading) to have a decent critical to be able to reach your basic critical.
Let's say A is your basic attack (4.5k atak; 6.7k critical):
Here is f(x)=x²
-If you cast Owl's Insight, what gives you 550% extra critical bonus, you have
D (10.6 atk;10.3 critical)
-Now let's add eagle anger, which gives you 600% extra critical bonus,
1) Firstly, the 600% are added to the basic critical, what gives 14.3k critical (E:20k atk; 14.3k crit)
2) Or, both critical buff can be added together, whats gives 16.4k critical.(D:27k atk; 16.4k crit)
I know the numbers are insane, they are just figures by default because of my graph, I just tried to demonstrate my hypothesis in a rational way through graphs.
Even though you can reach these insane numbers the mobs resist still exist. And I dont know how the developers worked on the critic system, i just think it is normal to hit stronger if you have big critical %, indeed just think about what is a critical hit? It allows you to deal extra damages per hit, thus it goes without saying to say that critical increase your damages. It is just an hypothesis, I'm not trying to tell you how the critic system works, this is how i think it could work.
PS: I dont know if Arrow Shower is better than pinpoint shot, but i'm not feeling comfortable to cast arrow shower => must be at a certain distance, cant move.
Whereas pinpoint shot => have a little superarmor while begining to cast it, can deal damage at close or far range.
