It's official: Guild Wars 2 is almost ready. And that means ArenaNet has finally announced a release date for real and for true: August 28th, 2012. And this one's actually official, according to a new video released moments ago (which you can watch after the cut).



The Question is now , What to Play Until it comes out ; D ?

    hear that? that's the sound of me not caring.

    the hype train has been going for a long time and i want to see what happens with this game at launch. let's hope there's no major problems with launch and then wait 6 months to check out the active population.

    lol... about friggin time... I remember back in 2010 when some people said that GW2 was only a bunch of vaporware... good to know that the game is finally going to be out...

    Oh wait... there is a small mistake... is August 28, 2019!!!!

    I'm skeptical of what the game will be like. My gut is telling me that they've completely abandoned everything that GW1 offered and that it's just some brand new MMO with the name Guild Wars slapped onto it. I'm likely going to wait and see what happens with it. Probably not a day 1 purchase.

      Time flies pretty fast for me. I read enough reviews and seen alot of videos on youtube to know Guild Wars 2 is the best. I Pre-Purchase mine once it was available. I played in 1st and 2nd Beta Weekend Event, both stress test and now waiting for the 3rd Beta Event. The professions that I tried and did have fun with is elementalist, engineer, thief, ranger, guardian and just started on my warrior during the last stress test. So you can see I played the human starting areas so many times and still wanting more. This game offers so much and I can tell you its worth every penny.

        the fate of all MMOs are decided some time after the initial release, usually at the 6 months point for a health check and finalized by the 1 year point. remember that GW2 seems to be a buy to play game and not a free to play game. there is a difference between the two.

        YES GW2 I can't wait but I hope it won't be ruined for smth. The last few new games were kinda disappointing. I'm sure I'll have fun though xD been following GW2 more than PSO2 and it's an MMORPG unlike Diablo.

          That's what the blind hype would lead you to believe. In reality once you get full access to the game you'll burn out on it within a few weeks to a month just like any other mmo because the fact of the matter is it's no where near as innovative as all the false hype the developers have been shitting out. It's just like any other game and will be just as big of a disappointment to everyone as SWTOR was.

          the best about gw2 is its just buy on time 50-70 dollar up front and no monthly fee after. so this wont be a money waster cuz you will play it have fun and if ur bored so what you only spent what one non mmo game worth for a mmo game. This will kill WoW for shure cuz of the fact that it wont cost u an arm or a leg every month/ 2 month.

          I was starting to get the same feeling... Hype hype hype... The publisher gets a lot of money because a lot of people buys the box and in the end is just more of the same...

          That is the modern business motto... Its not in the product.... Its in the Hype!!!
