CCP has offered new information about how EVE Online will link-up to its upcoming console shooter, Dust 514. It's an ambitious idea, with players from both games interacting directly, and Dust 514 players able to affect the EVE Online world through their actions.
Speaking to Gamasutra, CCP producer Thomas Farrer, explained that Playstation 3 owners who buy Dust 514 will be getting access to the same EVE Online universe, just from a different perspective:
"You know, between the PC and PS3, right now, we already have chat up and running, so players can type and talk to each other. Obviously, we're working on all of our communication options. EVE mail and Dust mail will be the same thing. You'll be able to interact via [community portal] EVE Gate, and also VOiP implementation as well."
It's definitely an interesting idea, particularly if PC gamers control the strategy side of things, while the PS3 players fight the in-game wars. What do you think?
