SMITE is an online battleground between mythical gods.  SMITE is similar to DoTA games but with a few significant changes including a third-person perspective and WASD movement.  Players choose from a selection of gods, join session based 5 versus 5 arena combat, and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions.  SMITE will be free-to-play and is a digital download for the PC.


SMITE has kicked off on May 31st. The official announced that there will be no character wipe for those who have already been involved in testing and that players will be able to try out seventeen characters.

At first i didn't really cared about this game, I thought it will be stupid and things like that, but when I saw a gameplay video i was like "I am so stopping LoL" :D So yea I think the game will be good, but I will be sure when i try it myself :)

Over the past few years i have become a huge fan of the MOBA genre. I have been really hoping for an adaptation of the genre with a 3rd person/ 3d type aspect of the graphics, and SMITE looks like its pulled off the quality and gameplay i have been looking for.

The graphics are nice, and the menus and shop interface seem polished and easy to use. I love how all the Heroes you have to chose from are "Gods", and after watching a few videos of the gameplay, i cant wait to get my hands on this and try it out for myself.

first of all i want to say, that this game - especially in its current state - looks just great! in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I7kDcRdM2Q , which has been released by mmhut.com only 2 days ago its already discernible, that this game will become as much of a moba-blockbuster just like heroes of newerth, league of legends and dota 2 did.

if you didnt know it yet, this game is using the unreal engine 3, which also comes to action in games like americas army, the batman arkham series or gears of war for example, so you can really expect a lot when it comes to graphics, stability, performance and gameplay options!

as a passionate hon, lol and dota 2 player, i can assure you from the first look i got from the actual mmhut.com video, that this game will surely "drag you into its hex"!

the map reminds us a lot of the basic dota style, but actually it seems to be a bit more complex, which allows players to perform more complex gameplay actions like ganking, juking or farming, than we already know it from hon, dota or lol. so get ready for some massive adrenaline rush here or there!

some heroes also look pretty familiar to what we know already from those huge and fantastic moba games yet mentioned and as far as i could see, sun wu kong plays a lot like monkey king from hon and he bo seems to be a lot like myrmidon, which also comes from hon. but i think i could also see some kind of magmus, swiftblade or even flint beastwood, but im not so sure about that.

of course the graphics are fantastic, but also the buy menu and item system seem to be very innovative and so you will be able to profit from autobuy or recommended items, which can be upgraded in a manner we´ve already seen from dota 2, when it comes to special items. the main menu and match making system menu seem to be very intuitive and functional also, so it wont take you long to find a suitable game and just get into the action very quickly and easily!

all together this game will be the most anticipated and succesful free to play moba game we will come to see this year ranging from gameplay, over grahpics, hero and map design up to a totally new but also familiar form of genuine dota-style gaming ensuring endless hours of fun and competition!

of course im dying to get a key!

Been playing LoL for quite a long time now. I've tried HoN and a few others but although they can be fun, none of them really seem to have exactly what I'm looking for. I've always looked for a similar style of game that somehow had a fully rotational perspective.
On top of that I've always loved all kinds of deities of sorts such as these. I myself being a Norse Pagan am going to be going straight for Odin and Hel.
With my favorite RTS personally being Age of Mythology, this game really is a big hit for me. Would love to get into the beta and am incredibly excited to play.

After i have seen this new MOBA game   I Liked it so much  and i wanted to get this game by any way  But  there are some Things that i didn`t like     ... First  ZEUS  which should have a good appearance and good spell animation in ANY Online game     ,,, His look is not so good in this game  and his spells animations are not so good either    ALSO  monkey king  Ultimate  Causes fire works  which is not suitable for his ultimate   This is my impression i hope u don`t dislike me for any thing i have said   thank you...

Where do I begin with Smite, well first I have to go back to the roots, DoTA on WCIII (I don't care for SC so I won't mention the true beginning) anyways awesome mod made and the roots for all MOBA games. Loved playing it then I heard about League of Legends, made by the DoTA team so I was alright I'll give it a shot. Fell in love with it since 2009 been playing all the time, the thing I was hoping for was WASD support and then this game comes out and I'm like sweet! Awesome concept, I was thinking Rise & Fall Civilizations at War. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rise_and_Fall:_Civilizations_at_War) Basically one of my favorite RTS games, along with Age of Empires but this gave me the ability to play a Hero. I'm pretty excited about Smite, League of Legends with Rise & Fall elements.

You don't even know how much I wanna play Smite, I mean just looking at it makes my brain drool! I already love MOBA games, but this one is 3d. Words can't describe how excited i am.

My Impression !? Kick Ass Action Moba, Bored of simple Click, QWER Action over LoL :p So Can i have a Beta Key ?

This game looks huge with mithological characters and background. Third person moba is the future ;)

been waiting for this game since i was playing global agenda
mobas point and click are shit like LoL and HoN ... dota was the first and greatest moba then all others just did same thing
LOCO was a bit better
But this is pure awsomeness with its over the shoulder view, mithological heroes, skills that require fps/tps/real action game like targeting and ofc its 3D :D
so give me a beta key for i havent received my key yet from them and i want to play it badly :)

Really interesting...never played this type of game but after i saw the gameplay of Smite i really want to try it.

I like the game. They took the DotA concept and made something interesting with it. Third person MOBA style game with nice graphics and hopefully good mechanics seems like a good investment. Hi-Rez Studios already has experience with 3rd person games like Global Agenda so I think they will do a great job with this one. Would like to try this game out :)

I've been in Hirez games beta's before. I must say they have a good community support and therefore I'm also looking forward to this new game.
Also I've entered a dozen of giveaways, but never got a key :(

The game looks amazing and high-action with nice effects. Hopefully it is well balanced :)
