Negative Reaction From Mists of of Pandaria: Do You Still Support, Believe and Love WoW?

Oct 24, 2011 12:42 am
Look, when Mists of of Pandaria news came out, so much negative reaction came with together.
Read this blog by Mike: What the F* Happened to Warcraft?
He said:
"Mist of Panderia might have ruined WoW for some, but it's ruined the entire Warcraft brand for me."
In some players' eyes, WoW seems worse and worse, some even has given up this game, but it has many supporters too. Some are excited for this new expansion of WoW.
From here, Blizzard believes players will "come around" to Pandaria, Blizzard isn't worried about the negative reaction.
"I think people will come around once they start playing it in the game," lead encounter designher Scott Mercer told GameInformer.
Blizzard are full of confidence to the new content. What do you think? Do you still support, believe and love WoW?

The essence of WoW has disappeared for me. It's not as dramatic as mike but still me and my friend are quitting WoW before this expansion. All these events don't match up the story what so ever and makes it really odd.

To be honest, I actually like the Pandas. Monk class, I dunno...never been a fan of Monk style classes, but we'll see.

However, Blizzard seems to be trying to cater to EVERYONE...which has never worked out for games (MMO or not) in the past.

Really, for the most part...I'm one of the few that actually like what I've heard of it so far. We'll see how they handle world PvP and if there are going to be dynamic world events and what not. If it has dynamic events, that would be really cool.

My biggest complaint I guess, is the heavily nerfed talent system...I'll have to see what they replace it with. If it heavily limits choice, that will be a HUGE fail.

I completely agree. The expansion does not actually look too bad from what we know so far. Some people have just been hostile without looking at what it actually is. All though I'm sure many of them don't even play anymore. The lore for Pandaria actually works and the new environments look awesome.

The one concern that I have is that I don't want PvP to be the main focus, because of how horrific class PvP balance is. So unless they completely over haul that and create separate PvP and PvE skills that are balanced, and don't have stupid abilities like 10 second stuns, 6 second unbreakable (by damage) stuns, invincibility, an abundance of slowing ablities etc.

LoL...so bunch of Pandas ruined the warcraft series for him, but the childlish powerranger - level plot with litch kings death and all that was actually fine ?
I guess he just became a teenager and heard panda's aren't cool any more at his age.
In all honesty whole wow is a disgrace to warcraft lore. You can't butched a storyline with an MMO, you don't let buncha random players kill Illidan, so...what...story goes like this:
Moon priestess free's illidan from the prison to fight the undeads, arthas kills father, etc, etc... buncha random kids kills illidan 1000000 times, then arthas dies to another zerg of kids........ yup, sounds like a book novel.

Seriously, you can't be telling me pandas ruined warcraft... WOW isn't about story and if you like the warcaft storyline, thats not why you will play wow, it's why you will hate it.

And Zephyra, sieriously: u're gonna quit playing a game cause they added a class you dont like. I guess you forgot you could...simply...not... play that class ?

When I saw the trailer for MoP, my first reaction was "WTF is this crap?!" My second reaction was that surely this was an elaborate prank, and the 'real' expansion trailer would come out in a day or two. When I realized it was for real, I cancelled my subscription. Blizzard, like every other small company that becomes wildly successful, has lost touch with its consumer base, and I see this farce of an expansion as a betrayal to those of us who have loyally been invested in this franchise for so many years. I'm a female player in my 30s, and this MoP concept is childish and a gross underachievement on the part of developers. They took a race that was a footnote and a side joke in Warcraft lore and have put it at the forefront, and have turned the entire franchise into a joke. Blizzard needs to MoP up this mess and stop trying to market a half-assed attempt at an expansion as some innovative gift when really they've short-changed us all. If pet battles are listed as a feature of the new expansion, that tells me they're either stupid or think subscribers are dumb enough to take anything they give us. Either way, it's an insult to our intelligence, and I will have no part of it if they continue down this path.

Blizzard, betrayed its fans a long time ago but this is like a slap in the face

      Jun 13, 2012 10:44 am
I honestly don't care at all for the story line/lore of Warcraft, so I'll just the game and decide whether or not I should support it when it is released.

Personally the main "turn off" to mists for people i know is the adjustments to the talent trees. Pandas arent so much of an issue, since there are many Races both npc and playable. Having bears or "pandas" wouldnt be a step out of the "ordinary" for some. some peices of mists seem like workable ideas, and some like the talent tree thing may have very negative effects, depends on the player and style of gameplay.

Ive had a wow accts for a very long time, and  i do feel that blizzard like some other companies these days (EA and a few others) seem to cater to the "newer breed" mmo players more and more. Sort of makes one nastoligic for the "old days" of mmos where features were actually interesting and "innovative" lol

Ill check out the new patch im sure just to get a feel for it. But will see if the adjustments are agreeable or not with my play style.

The new talent system really isn't all that bad. It is different compared to the current one and it may take some time to adjust to the new system, but I like it (especially for my warrior).

It looks like people just dont like Pandas... and I have to be honest the concept looks kinda cheesy and lame... Its beyond words, its like something so bad, like wearing an Abraham Lincoln hat in modern days... lol

Eh. It's just the fans that care about the actual plot line/lore of Warcraft that actually really cares. It really isn't all that bad (game play wise).

Some people will adjust to new talent systems faster then others, to some changing talent trees and stats can mean relearning a game they have enjoyed for a long time and can be a turn off depending on how it goes.

Nothing is currently set in stone until the expansion is actually released.

I don't understand all this bashing regarding Wow, really, it's getting out of hand.

        Aug 26, 2012 2:26 pm
Wow, (no pun intended) I've been listening to my friends go on about WoW for years, and considered trying it myself, but even when they brought out a werewolf race (Wargen) I never took that final step of laying down money for it. But the combination of friends' encouragement and that awesome cinematic trailer have made me plonnk down £45 for the full whack. I love the idea of the Pandaran race, and the monk class.

This sounds like the whining of brats who can't handle trying something new, and to be honest I'm glad. If all those camping, PvP, stomp all over everyone new powergamers quit in a snit fit, that leaves more of a chance for brand new players to actually (heaven forbid) enjoy themselves and the story.
