TERA is an abbreviation for The Exiled Realm of Arborea. TERA is the first true
Action MMORPG, providing all of the depth of an MMO with the intensity and gratification of an action game.

How many races are there?

How many classes are there?
TERA offers eight classes: Archer, Berserker, Lancer, Mystic, Priest, Slayer, Sorcerer, and Warrior. To learn more about TERA's classes check out the

Are there any class restrictions? Can any class play any race?
There are no restrictions. You first choose your class, then you can choose any race.
Are there any sex restrictions? Can I play a male or female of any race?
A. There are no sex restrictions. Barakas do not have a gender. Popori's are all male and Elin's are female.
Is there PVP?
There will be PvE servers that provide consensual PvP content, such as Battlegrounds and duels. There will also be PvP servers with world PvP. These PvP servers will also include Battlegrounds that provide specific PvP rewards. Additional details can be found in the official Tera PvP Q&A thread.
What is the max level in TERA?
During Korean Tera Open Beta the max level was 38. After Tera went live in Korea the max level was immediately increased to 50. An update recently raised the max level to 58 in Korea. Further level increases are expected.
How do I level in TERA?
Leveling in TERA is through a combination of quests and killing mobs. Those who prefer quests can find plenty of quests to focus on. Those who prefer simply killing mobs will not get bored. The mob appearance and locations change frequently enough to keep players engaged and avoid the "grind" boredom common to many MMOs. TERA's Active Combat System requires players to pay attention to each and every mob.
Will there be sieges?
A. The official answer is "No; we've come up with something we think you'll agree is much cooler. Stay tuned in the coming months for more details!" We are presently aware of Battleground which offer up to 15 v 15 Player vs Player competitions. Additionally there is a political system which is quite detailed and involves PVP.
Is TERA an open-world or instanced game?
TERA is an
open-world sandbox game with certain instanced areas.
I've seen videos of TERA controlled with a gamepad. What's this about?
TERA's action-combat gameplay lends itself to gamepad support very well, and we plan to support gamepads in the initial launch. We encourage everyone to try TERA with a gamepad. It just might grow on you!
What does Westernization mean, exactly? Are you just translating the Korean version?
TERA Westernization means taking the core Korean version of TERA and making it appeal to a more Western - specifically North American and European - audience. Audiences have different expectations of games in different parts of the world, and playing MMOs in Korea is a different kind of experience than playing them in the West. We have a team of writers who are fashioning the game's lore and plot, writing dialogue, and creating quests and story from the ground up. The game that will launch in North America & Europe will have significant differences from the Korean version.
Will you have TERA region-specific servers?
Our current plan is to have recommended servers for each region or country.
What languages will TERA be available in?
En Masse will provide TERA in English for the United States. Frogster will provide TERA in English, German and French for Europe.
How much say does En Masse and Frogster have in the development process? Do you just make cosmetic changes, or can you actually affect the development of the game?
We have a very good relationship with Bluehole Studio, and collaborate with them all the time to create the best possible gaming experience for TERA's players. For example, feedback from the Focus Group Tests has led to changes in the game, and our producers' in-house expertise continues to help guide the development process.
Will Tera offer a crafting system?
Yes. Tera crafting offers 5 different professions: Metal Weapons, Magic Weapons, Cloth Armor, Plate Armor and Leather Armor. There are also 5 material processing professions: sewing, alchemy, metal working, tanning and bone working.
Can any class or race learn any crafting skill? What are the limits?
Yes, any class/race can learn any crafting skill to the max limit.
Does TERA offer guilds? and alliances? and guild housing?
Tera does offer Guilds and Guild housing. Tera does not offer any formal Guild alliances.
What kind of weapons are there in TERA?
Each class has it's own weapon. Weapons cannot be used by other classes. For example, only Archers can use a bow.
How can I improve my weapon?
TERA offers an
Enchanting system which allows you to improve the stats of your weapon and unlock bonuses at certain levels. Additionally Tera provides a
Crystal system which allows for crystals to be applied to your weapon which offer various stat bonuses. Check out the

Can I improve my character beyond the basic stats?
TERA offers a
Glyph system which allows you to customize your character.
How does the market work?
Tera offers players a pet called a Homonculus which is used for buying and selling items. All of the items on your account can be bought or sold using your pet.
What is the big deal about TERA's targeting system?
In most MMOs you click on a target once, then it is selected and locked. The target can move left, right, forward, back and you still have the target locked. TERA is not the same. TERA offers a free targeting system. If you or your target moves then you must adjust or you will miss.
