RIFT 1.8 is finally out, bringing with it the new raid called Infernal Dawn. The 20-man dungeon will have players fighting Maelforge and Laethys, after first getting smacked around by their lieutenants in a giant, active volcano.
It also brings in two new trade skills, Fishing and Survival. Fishing is pretty self-explanatory, while Survival seems to be just a tougher way to say 'Chef'. The skill is used to create meals that provide in-game buffs. Good news is that neither skill conflicts with your current set, since they don’t count against the trade skill limit.
Ember Isle is the name of the new area and to celebrate the patch’s arrival is the end of The Carnival of the Ascended. Mind you, it ends due to an epic fight breaking out, but still.
The War of the Wanton Maw is the new world event and will have players go against cults that are starting to pop up like daisies.

There is even a dedicated level 50 quest line for five-man groups.
Completing new dailies and closing rifts will grant the chance to win some new loot, including another shot at getting the celestial horse or mechanical spider mounts.
