The dragons
Maelforge and
Laethys are coming, and you and 20 friends get to face them in Rift 1.8. The team at Trion Worlds continues to crank out new content for their MMO, and the latest update will bring a badass boss and his buddy.
Along with the new
Infernal Dawn raid, Rift 1.8 will also bring
leaderboards, a
guild finder, and more. The rundown from Trion:
New 20 player raid - Infernal Dawn: Face the dragons Maelforge, Laethys, and their mightiest followers in the heart of a volcano
Leaderboards: Measure yourself against fellow players in PvP, PvE and more
Guild Finder: Quickly and easily find a home and comrades for your Ascended
Instant Adventure on
Ember Isle: Teleport to endless quests and rewards.

No release date for Rift 1.8 just yet, but Trion says it is coming soon. It is said that 1.8 will go live on 4/11/12:

Can't wait for RIFT 1.8 and I would like to see how the dragons in RIFT differ from WoW's. XD!
